García Sanz Voted New President of Spanish Automakers Association
20 June 2008 -- The General Assembly of ANFAC, the Spanish automakers association, appointed Francisco J. García Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for Procurement, as its President when it met yesterday in Madrid.
The term of office is two years. García Sanz is the first representative of the Volkswagen Group to hold the most senior office of the association representing the Spanish automotive industry. He takes over from Juan Antonio Fernandez Sevilla, who had been President since 2004.
The abbreviation ANFAC stands for “Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Automóviles y Camiones” (“Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers”). The association was founded in 1977 and represents the interests of the automotive industry in Spain. Its members include all major automakers producing in Spain such as SEAT, Daimler, Ford, General Motors, Iveco, Nissan, PSA, Renault and Volkswagen.
