BMW Plans to Reduce Points Backlog in British WTCC Races
Munich, July 21, 2008 -- With two rounds being contested at the Brands Hatch Circuit, the FIA World Touring Car Championship this weekend moves into the second half of its current season. For the BMW national teams the event provides an opportunity to reduce their points’ gaps to the leaders of the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championships respectively. That such an exercise is possible was recently proven by BMW Team UK’s Andy Priaulx (GB) in Estoril (PT). There the triple world champion was able to claw back nine points on leader Gabriele Tarquini to move up to fourth in the classification, having reduced his deficit to just 15 points.
BMW Driver Alessandro Zanardi Celebrates Most Successful WTCC Weekend to Date
Brno, 15th June 2008 -- Alessandro Zanardi (IT) claimed BMW’s third win in the 2008 World Touring Car Championship at the “Automotodrom Brno”. He took victory in the ninth round of the season. Félix Porteiro (ES) finished second, thus making it a one-two for BMW Team Italy-Spain. Chevrolet’s Alain Menu (CH) came third. The BMW Team Germany drivers, Augusto Farfus (BR) and Jörg Müller (DE), executed numerous overtaking manoeuvres and took the chequered flag in fourth and fifth respectively. Andy Priaulx (GB) of BMW Team UK had to make do with 14th.
SEAT Achieves Its Best Result in WTCC in Mexico
Victories for Jordi Gené and Tiago Monteiro in Puebla
Martorell, 06-04-2008 -- The second round of the WTCC in Mexico has become a historic weekend for SEAT, after winning twice and clinching the top six positions in the second race. Jordi Gené won the first race with Rydell second, while Tiago Monteiro took the victory of the second race, followed by all of his SEAT mates: the five SEAT León TDI drivers and Tom Coronel with the SEAT León WTCC. SEAT and their drivers have also made a clean sweep of all the overall classifications.

SEAT León TDI Dominates WTCC Race at Monza with Pole and Two Wins
YVAN MULLER JOINT WTCC LEADER AND SEAT CLOSES MANUFACTURERS’ GAP TO JUST 10 POINTS
Martorell, 07-10-2007 -- The SEAT León TDI dominated the FIA World Touring Car Championship race meeting at Monza in Italy today, with Yvan Muller qualifying on pole and winning the first race, while Jordi Gené followed up this 2nd place finish in Race 1 with victory in Race 2. The fantastic results move Yvan into the joint lead of the Drivers’ Championship (with Andy Priaulx), while SEAT won both races to slash BMW’s lead in the Manufacturers’ Championship from 32 to 10 points. The final two races of the season take place in Macau in six weeks time (November 17/18), and six drivers remain in contention for the title.
