Comeback of a sports car legend: Third generation of the Scirocco to be launched will be available across Europe by mid-November

16 June 2008 - The countdown is running for the new era Volkswagen Scirocco: the third generation of the sports car will already be arriving on the market in August. Volkswagen is staging the comeback of a legend with the debut of the two-door car – Scirocco generations I and II wrote history as the most successful Volkswagen coupé of all time with about 800,000 units sold.

Wolfsburg, 22 May 2008 - Volkswagen will present the world premiere of a 239 kW (325 PS) version of the new Volkswagen Scirocco today at the legendary GTI Meet at Wörther Lake. For two days later, a team of legendary drivers will start the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in the sports version of the Scirocco. Thus, the new Scirocco will be in the spotlight at two cult events for car enthusiasts at the same time.

Online voting closes at midday on Saturday

Wolfsburg, 21 May 2008 -- The tension is rising: all Internet users only have until midday this Saturday to decide who takes part in the final of the Scirocco Song Contest. At the moment Hana Slavickova, Giacomo Miliziano and Cesare Piseddu from the Wolfsburg plant are top of the contest charts. However, with Hermann Clemens from Emden, Jens Walkenhorst from Kassel and Mark Brennecke from Salzgitter also in the top ten, there are some powerful voices from three other plants as well. Brunswick and Hanover are still in the running, too, with their candidates Andre Huk and Daniel Dreier.

Wolfsburg / Leipzig, 28 March 2008 - Volkswagen is launching into this year’s automotive springtime with a genuine display of new model fireworks. Six German premieres are being presented to the public from April 5 to 13 in Leipzig at the 2008 Automobil International. They include the four-door Volkswagen Passat CC coupé and the new all-round Scirocco sports car.

Wolfsburg / Geneva, 28 February 2008 - Volkswagen will be igniting a fireworks of models in Geneva, with seven international premiere presentations scheduled. The main spotlight will be on the completely re-engineered Scirocco, an all-round sports car, as the highlight of the show. Another vehicle being showcased at Lac Léman is the Golf TDI Hybrid.

Wolfsburg, 16 December 2007 - The Volkswagen brand continued to grow sales in November, reporting a further significant increase worldwide of 10.3 percent, marking a new all-time high for the eleventh month of the year. A total of 324,000 vehicles were delivered to customers. Vehicle deliveries rose by 8.8 percent in the period January – November. Customers around the world bought 3.37 million Volkswagen brand vehicles, the highest number ever for such a period.
