Nissan Altima Inches Past Honda Accord to Become Consumer Reports' Top-Ranked, Midpriced Sedan

YONKERS, N.Y., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire - USNewswire/ -- The newly-redesigned Honda Accord V6 lost its standing as Consumer Reports' top-rated midpriced sedan following testing of seven sedans for the February 2008 issue. The V6-powered Nissan Altima is now ranked first in CR's ratings of midpriced sedans, followed closely by the Accord, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Passat in that order. A very narrow one-point difference in scores separates the Accord and Altima.

Volkswagen Brand Again Reports Significant Increase in Sales with 10.3 Percent Rise in November 2007

Wolfsburg, 16 December 2007 - The Volkswagen brand continued to grow sales in November, reporting a further significant increase worldwide of 10.3 percent, marking a new all-time high for the eleventh month of the year. A total of 324,000 vehicles were delivered to customers. Vehicle deliveries rose by 8.8 percent in the period January – November. Customers around the world bought 3.37 million Volkswagen brand vehicles, the highest number ever for such a period.

Volkswagen Celebrates 15 Millionth Volkswagen Passat Worldwide at Emden Plant

Emden, 09 November 2007 - Today, the 15 millionth VW Passat produced throughout the world rolled off the assembly line at Volkswagen’s Emden plant. Official DKMS ambassador Sybille Beckenbauer accepted the vehicle as a donation from Prof. Jochem Heizmann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, Pavel Vacek, plant manager at Emden and Peter Jacobs, Chairman of the Works Council of Emden plant.

The anniversary vehicle is a Volkswagen Passat Variant BlueMotion 1.9 TDI in arctic blue silver metallic with 77 kW (105 HP). The VW Passat is one of the most successful Volkswagen models throughout the world and also one of the most popular midsized models in Germany.
