Volkswagen of America Reports June 2008 Sales
Best Overall Sales Month Since August 2006
HERNDON, Va., July 1, 2008 -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced June 2008 sales of 23,208 units, a 0.3 percent increase over the June 2007 sales of 23,137 vehicles. On a year-to-date basis, 2008 Volkswagen sales remain 0.6 percent ahead of 2007 sales through June.

June reflects Volkswagen's best sales month since August 2006. The Volkswagen Passat wagon had its best sales month since January 2007 with sales up 25.9 percent over June 2007. Volkswagen's innovative coupe-convertible-sunroof Volkswagen Eos continues to be a summertime top-seller with sales of 1,632 unites, up 14 percent over last June.

Wolfsburg, 25 June 2008 - Leading companies from the automotive industry as well as from the telecommunications and software development sector are today presenting their results at the halfway stage in one of Germany’s most important road safety projects - AKTIV. The declared aim of this research initiative launched back in September 2006 and running until August 2010 is to prevent accidents in future by further enhancing active safety, relieving drivers and harmonising traffic flows. Volkswagen AG is one of the partners of the initiative sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
Volkswagen Group Sets New Delivery Record for the period January to May 2008
2.7 Million vehicles delivered worldwide – increase of 6.6 percent
Wolfsburg, 26 June 2008 - The Volkswagen Group sold 2.69 million vehicles worldwide from January to May 2008. This represents an increase of 6.6 percent compared with the same period last year and is yet another new delivery record. Group deliveries increased by 2.0 percent to 553,400 vehicles in May. As a result, the development of deliveries by the Group was significantly better than developments on the world market, where deliveries were down 2.9 percent in May and up 2.3 percent for the period January to May.

Volkswagen Wins "Golden Drop of Oil 2008" Award for Energy and Environment
Wolfsburg, 27 June 2008 -- Volkswagen has won the international competition "Golden Drop of Oil 2008" for its innovative engine-gearbox combination, the powerful 90 kW TSI engine and the new 7-speed DSG gearbox. The energy and environment prize is awarded annually by the German automobile club "Kraftfahrer-Schutz e. V. (KS)". The club awards this prize for technical developments in passenger cars which make a significant contribution towards reducing fuel consumption and safeguarding the environment.
The jurors honoured the two new technical developments from Volkswagen as an intelligent combination which, together, achieve noticeable savings in fuel and emissions. It was emphasised that this technology is used in numerous models from the compact class through the small car segment.
January to May Sees Another Delivery Record for the Volkswagen Brand
- 1.57 million Volkswagen vehicles sold from January to May – increase of 6.7 percent
- Difficult overall market in May: 318,600 vehicles (- 0.8 percent) delivered worldwide
Wolfsburg, 20 June 2008 - The Volkswagen brand delivered 1.57 million vehicles in the first five months of this year, an increase of 6.7 percent compared with January to May last year and at the same time a new delivery record for this period. In a difficult market environment, the Volkswagen brand delivered 318,600 vehicles worldwide (- 0.8 percent) in May, thus performing noticeably better than the overall market (- 2.9 percent).
García Sanz Voted New President of Spanish Automakers Association
20 June 2008 -- The General Assembly of ANFAC, the Spanish automakers association, appointed Francisco J. García Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for Procurement, as its President when it met yesterday in Madrid.
The term of office is two years. García Sanz is the first representative of the Volkswagen Group to hold the most senior office of the association representing the Spanish automotive industry. He takes over from Juan Antonio Fernandez Sevilla, who had been President since 2004.

Wolfsburg, 17 June 2008 -- On Monday, representatives from Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft went to the Auschwitz Memorial site to officially present a T5 Caravelle to the International Auschwitz Committee. The vehicle will be used at the memorial to drive around the youngsters working there to help maintain the site, as well as being put to other valuable uses. Among the young people there are Volkswagen apprentices and management trainees.

55 International Salespersons Are First Recipients of Volkswagen Diploma

The successor to Peter Thul as Head of Audi Product Communications will be Stephan Öri (46). He will report to Toni Melfi, Head of Communications for AUDI AG.

Volkswagen Receives Further Award for Increasing Shareholder Value

Wolfsburg/Turin, 21 May 2008 - The Volkswagen Group has achieved the highest increase in shareholder value of all stock market listed companies in the European automotive industry. The auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) presented this year’s European Automotive Shareholder Value Award to Europe’s largest automaker in Turin on Tuesday evening. Volkswagen had already received the award for the highest increase in shareholder value in a global comparison in January.

In an increasingly difficult market environment the brand delivered 335,000 passenger cars to customers. This represents an increase of 10.3 percent compared with the same month in 2007 and at the same time means that the Volkswagen brand exceeded its own expectations of 5.9 percent growth announced in April.

Wolfsburg, 21 May 2008 -- The tension is rising: all Internet users only have until midday this Saturday to decide who takes part in the final of the Scirocco Song Contest. At the moment Hana Slavickova, Giacomo Miliziano and Cesare Piseddu from the Wolfsburg plant are top of the contest charts. Volkswagen's April 2008 Sales Up Over Last Year and Best Volkswagen Eos Sales Month Ever
HERNDON, Va., May 1, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced April 2008 sales of 19,415 units, a 1.7 percent increase over the April 2007 sales of 19,086 vehicles. On a year-to-date basis, 2008 Volkswagen sales are 0.8 percent ahead of 2007 sales through April.
A sign that spring is definitely in the air is Volkswagen's innovative coupe-convertible-sunroof Volkswagen Eos posted its best sales month ever with sales of 1,663 units, representing a 45.6 percent increase over April 2007.
The Passat also recorded a strong sales month with sales of 3,045 units, representing an increase of 10.2 percent over April 2007.
