General Motors to Invest $445 Million in New Plant, Thai Operations
Rayong, Thailand, 2008-08-13 – General Motors (GM) is investing $445 million to build an engine plant and upgrade an existing vehicle assembly plant here, company Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced today.

Ford Motor Company Launches DSFL in Asia
BANGKOK, Thailand, July 8, 2008 - Ford Motor Company is launching its successful "Driving Skills for Life" program this year in select Asia markets, including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. In cooperation with the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation and government agencies in the four ASEAN countries, the program will teach practical skills and training for safe and fuel-efficient driving.
Driving Skills for Life is a free course that mixes classroom learning and practical training to help increase awareness of driving techniques that save fuel. The training is customized in each participating market to reflect the local driving environment and road conditions.
Two Car of the Year Awards to Volvo Cars Thailand
Apr 14, 2008 -- At the Car of the Year ceremony held in conjunction with the Bangkok International Motor Show, Volvo Cars received two awards - in the "Best Advanced Technology" category for exceptional innovations in the field of safety (Volvo S80 3.2) and for "Best Luxury SUV" (Volvo XC90 D5).
Both the award-winning cars could be seen on the Volvo stand at the Bangkok Motor Show together with the Volvo C30 1.8 F E85 and Volvo ReCharge Concept. The stand was visited by Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mr Suwit Kunkitti.

American Axle & Manufacturing Announces New Manufacturing Facility Construction in Thailand
DETROIT, Feb. 14, 2008 /PRNewswire - FirstCall/ -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, today announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Thailand, near the city of Rayong, located southeast of Bangkok.

BANGKOK: 27 November 2007 — Three Nissan models and two Honda models rank highest in their respective segments in new-vehicle design and performance, according to the J.D. Power Asia Pacific 2007 Thailand Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) StudySM released today.
Now in its fifth year, the APEAL Study is a consumer-reported measure of what excites and delights owners about their new vehicle’s performance and design during the first two to six months of ownership.
