Hans-Peter Stalf becomes new plant manager in Brunswick

Brunswick / Chattanooga, 19 August 2008 -- Frank Fischer (46) has been appointed head of the project team for the new Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga (USA) with effect from October 1, 2008. He is thus also the designated plant manager of the factory in the US State of Tennessee. His successor as plant manager in Brunswick will be Hans-Peter Stalf (52).

Wolfsburg / Chattanooga, 15 July 2008 - Volkswagen is setting out to build a plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where vehicle production will be due to commence in early 2011. The supervisory board of Volkswagen AG today approved the plans and an investment volume of up to 1 billion USD (around 620 million euro). The Group’s management board had previously pinpointed Chattanooga as the site for its new plant. “The USA market,” said Prof Martin Winterkorn, CEO of Volkswagen AG, “is an important part of our volume strategy and we are now very resolutely accessing that market. Volkswagen will be extremely active there.”

Nissan North America Announces Partnership with Nashville Symphony

Nashville, Tenn., February 25, 2008 -- Nissan North America and the Nashville Symphony announced today a five-year partnership, aimed at expanding music education for children of Middle Tennessee.

Nissan’s $500,000 contribution to the Nashville Symphony, distributed over the next five years, will provide support for the Symphony’s new education initiative called “One Note, One Neighborhood at a Time.” This program—using the Stratford school system in East Nashville as a flagship—will be presented on April 2, 2008 at the Dan Mills Elementary School.

Nissan Aids Tennessee Tornado Victims with $120,000 Donation

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 8, 2008 – Nissan North America, Inc., today said it would donate $120,000 in cash to the American Red Cross Nashville Area Chapter to assist with relief efforts in Tennessee after tornadoes ripped through the state earlier in the week.

“Tennessee is our home so we felt a responsibility to help our neighbors,” said Dominique Thormann, senior vice president, Administration and Finance. “As a corporation, we are committed to helping the communities in which we live and work especially in time of need.”

The $120,000 donation will help support the American Red Cross’ Southern Tornado Relief Fund. The Red Cross is coordinating relief efforts in Tennessee with other organizations.
