SUPER GT 2008 Round 2 Race Report

April 14, 2008 -- April 13th, Okayama International Circuit, Okayama Prefecture, Japan – Sunday April 13th, the 2nd round of the SUPER GT season was held at Okayama International Circuit in Okayama prefecture. XANAVI NISMO GT-R(#23 Satoshi Motoyama / Benoit Treluyer), starting from pole position led the race from the start, accomplishing a pole-to-flag victory, to get their second consecutive win after the first round of the 2008 season. Third in qualifying, Calsonic IMPUL GT-R(#12 Tsugio Matsuda / Sebastien Philippe) finished 2nd, and the NISSAN GT-R took its second consecutive 1-2 finish.

Nissan GT-R to Debut in Japan's Super GT Series

TOKYO (Oct. 25, 2007) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. (NISMO) today announced that the NISSAN GT-R will run in the GT500 class of the SUPER GT series in Japan for the 2008 season. It has been four years since the GT-R last competed in Japan , when it won the Japan GT Championship in 2003 . Private testing is planned to start soon in Japan.

Details including vehicle specifications and team structure will be announced at the Nissan Motorsports Press Conference in February 2008.

SUPER GT Rd. 8 Race Report

October 14, Autopolis International Racing Course (Oita Pref.) -- Autopolis Racing Course (4.674km/lap), located in Hita city, Oita prefecture was the scene of Round 8 of SUPER GT. The MOTUL AUTECH Z (#22), with drivers Michael Krumm and Tsugio Matsuda, started the race in 7th, finishing in 4th place. With the opportunity to win the team title in the Championship, the team swore to do their best at the final round at Fuji Speedway in November.
