Joint venture planned to start in September 2008 with company to be headquartered in Korea

Stuttgart, June 16, 2008 – Robert Bosch GmbH and the Korean company Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. have decided to set up a joint venture to develop, manufacture, and sell lithium-ion batteries. It is planned that the joint venture, which is to be named "SB LiMotive Co. Ltd." and to be headquartered in Korea, will start operations in September 2008. The shareholding of Robert Bosch GmbH will be 50 percent and that of Samsung SDI Co. Ltd. 50 percent – both companies will be equally represented on the board of management and on the board of directors. The foundation of the joint venture is still subject to approval by antitrust authorities.

Board of Management members present Volkswagen Group Award 2008 on Ibiza

Wolfsburg / Ibiza, 25 May 2008 - The “Volkswagen Group Award 2008” was presented to the Volkswagen Group’s top suppliers on the Spanish island of Ibiza yesterday evening. Prof. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, and Francisco J. Garcia Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for ‘Procurement’, presented a total of 15 international winners with their awards for outstanding achievement.

One screen for two programs

February 4, 2008 -- The new Blaupunkt "Dual View" display from Bosch increases in-vehicle functionality. It is able to display two different programs on one monitor. The viewing angle determines which of the two programs can be seen on the display. The driver, for example, can track the visual navigation information, while the front-seat passenger can watch a film on the same screen. In other words, two different video programs run on one and the same screen.

February 01, 2008, Stuttgart – Robert Bosch GmbH and MAHLE GmbH have agreed to establish a fifty-fifty joint venture to develop, manufacture, and market exhaust gas turbochargers. It is planned to commence the joint venture in April 2008. The company, which will be called "Bosch Mahle Turbo Systems," will be headquartered in Stuttgart.

The joint venture partners plan to work together to develop and manufacture turbochargers for gasoline and diesel engines, and to market them worldwide. Series production is supposed to start in 2010. The foundation of the joint venture is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
