Rayong, Thailand, 2008-08-13 – General Motors (GM) is investing $445 million to build an engine plant and upgrade an existing vehicle assembly plant here, company Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced today.

Highlights:
* Part of GM’s strategy for growth in emerging markets
* New engine facility will manufacture diesels for Chevrolet in Thailand and other markets and GM brands
* Investment includes new tooling at existing assembly plant and engineering work for next-generation Colorado small pickup truck

General Motors Annual Stockholders Meeting to Be Held June 3

Detroit, Mich., 2008-06-02 -- General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM) will hold its annual stockholders meeting on June 3, 2008 at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware. In conjunction with the stockholders meeting, a press conference and conference call with investment analysts and media have also been scheduled.

Press Conference
The press conference, hosted by Chairman and CEO, Rick Wagoner, will begin at 8:00 a.m. EDT in the du Barry room of the du Pont hotel. In addition, a viewing room will also be available in the Jefferson Room in the Renaissance Conference Center located on Level 2 of Tower 300 in the Renaissance Center in Detroit, Mich. The room will be open at 7:00 a.m.

DETROIT, 2008-04-03 -- Rick Wagoner, General Motors chairman and chief executive officer, today announced the following executive retirements and appointments:

* John Middlebrook, 67, GM vice president, global sales, service and marketing operations, will retire effective July 1, 2008.
* Jonathan Browning, 48, GM Europe vice president, sales, marketing and aftersales, is appointed GM vice president, global sales, service and marketing, effective June 1, 2008.
* W. W. Brent Dewar, 53, GM North America vice president, field sales, service and parts, is appointed GM Europe vice president, sales, marketing and aftersales, effective June 1, 2008.

GM Announces Other Senior Executive Appointments

2008-03-03 -- Rick Wagoner, GM chairman and chief executive officer, announced that the GM board of directors approved the following appointments, effective immediately, at its meeting today:

* Frederick (Fritz) A. Henderson, 49, vice chairman and chief financial officer, is elected president and chief operating officer.
* Ray Young, 46, currently group vice president - finance, is elected executive vice president and chief financial officer, replacing Henderson.
* Thomas G. Stephens, 59, currently group vice president, global powertrain and global quality, is also elected executive vice president.

Elmer W. Johnson served in a variety of posts at GM from 1983 to 1988, including as executive vice president, general counsel and a director of the corporation. During his five years at GM, Johnson's management responsibilities grew to include all staff operations other than finance and research.

He was a remarkable person and brought his keen insight and intellect to many innovative situations in which the corporation was involved, including the acquisitions of EDS in 1984 and Hughes in 1985.

Chris Gubbey to Lead GM Russia and CIS

2008-01-10, DETROIT – GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced today that Chris Gubbey, currently chairman and managing director, GM Holden Ltd., will be appointed GM Europe vice president and managing director, GM Russia and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), effective February 1. Chris Gubbey, 51, succeeds Warren P. Browne, 56, who assumes a new role as executive director, GM Europe business development, where he will lead GM’s growth strategy for Turkey.

“Russia is quickly becoming one of the largest car markets in the world, and GM achieved the number one position among non-domestic manufacturers with sales of more than 250,000 units,” said Wagoner. “In his new role, Gubbey will continue to drive our expansion in this vital high growth market.”
