SHAH ALAM, 18 January 2008 – Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today officially launched the latest addition to the PROTON product line-up, the long-awaited replacement for the iconic PROTON SAGA.

PROTON Persona, PROTON Saga Drive PROTON's Domestic Sales

SHAH ALAM, - PROTON's pride and joy, the Persona, and its 50th Merdeka promotion model, the SAGA, have boosted PROTON's domestic sales and strengthened its position in the market.

Bookings for the Persona have reached 19,615 units in the three months that it was introduced while bookings for the SAGA have topped 26,618 units.

"We're pleased with the reception of these two models which underscore that we are moving in the right direction in terms of our manufacturing philosophy and have indeed produced the right car for the right market at the right price," said Managing Director Dato' Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
