13/05/2008 -- The green credentials of the new 2008 Proton Persona have been given official endorsement with the Federal Government Green Vehicle Guide awarding it a four star rating, the first Proton to achieve this level of energy efficiency.

The four star rating is based on both the fuel efficiency and the low level of emissions the new Persona achieves from its 1.6litre Campro twin cam 16 valve engine.

13/05/2008 -- The 2008 Proton Persona shares only its name with the previous Proton Persona model, a car that was sold in Australia between 1995 and 2005. The new model however is based on the Proton designed and developed GEN.2 platform and uses an improved version of Proton's own Campro 1.6 litre twin cam engine.

Proton Persona Enters Brunei
Second country after Singapore to receive the Proton Persona sedan
Brunei, 8 April– PROTON revved up its export optimisation plans with the launch of Persona in Brunei. The sedan was launched by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, Dato Ku’ Jaafar Ku Shaari.
The PROTON Persona, which has been driving sales in the domestic market with over 35,000 bookings since its launch on 16 July 2007, was first exported to Singapore in October last year and is expected to be a key factor in PROTON’s export optimisation drive.
Brunei has been a good market for PROTON and the company sees it as a potentially strong growth market and is confident of Persona’s performance in the country.

SHAH ALAM, - PROTON's pride and joy, the Persona, and its 50th Merdeka promotion model, the SAGA, have boosted PROTON's domestic sales and strengthened its position in the market.
Bookings for the Persona have reached 19,615 units in the three months that it was introduced while bookings for the SAGA have topped 26,618 units.
"We're pleased with the reception of these two models which underscore that we are moving in the right direction in terms of our manufacturing philosophy and have indeed produced the right car for the right market at the right price," said Managing Director Dato' Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
Singapore Is the First Export Country for the Proton Persona
PROTON PERSONA CROSSES THE CAUSEWAY
Shah Alam, 4 October 2007 – Persona, PROTON's pride and joy, made its debut in the export market today with its launch in Singapore.
The PROTON Persona, which has been driving sales in the domestic market with more than 18,000 bookings since its launch on 15 August 2007 and about 6,000 deliveries to-date, will similarly be key in PROTON's export optimisation drive.
Singapore is one of PROTON's traditional export market, in which an average of over 1,000 Proton cars have been sold annually in the last three years. It is apt that the Republic is the first export market for this newest addition to PROTON's range of models.
