2008-01-24, Eisenach -- German Economics Minister Michael Glos and Minister-President of the German State of Thuringia Dieter Althaus were present as actress Esther Schweins drove the ten-millionth Opel Corsa off the production lines at the plant in EisenBach. The anniversary car is a Corsa ecoFLEX 1.3 CDTI, which emits an especially low 119 grams CO 2/km. Minister Glos highlighted the important contribution to employment and growth that Opel has brought to Eisenach with its production plant. “The development of the automobile industry in the new German states has been highly successful, and Opel has played a major role in this success here in Eisenach."

Rüsselsheim 2007-12-11 -- The 500,000th new Opel Corsa will be registered in December 2007. Since its sales start around 14 months ago, the model has been successfully positioned throughout Europe and continues to lead large markets such as Germany and the United Kingdom.

Opel was able to increase Corsa registrations across Europe in the first 11 months of 2007 by around 50 percent compared to the same last-year period. This puts Opel’s successful model far ahead of other German competitors in the segment, who all had at least 45,000 fewer vehicle registrations than the Opel Corsa.
