TOKYO, June 16, 2008 — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced that the first all-new Nissan Teana, the flagship model in the company’s line-up in the Chinese market, rolled off the lines at the Xianfang plant of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL), Nissan's partner in China. The premium sedan made its global debut at Auto China in April 2008 where it received the “Best World Premier” award.

Nissan Boosts Production of Popular Nissan Altima

Canton, Miss. plant to add third shift to Altima sedan production

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 9, 2008 – On the heels of the best sales month in history for the Nissan Altima, Nissan North America, Inc., announced it will modify production at its Canton, Miss., vehicle assembly plant to meet consumer demand. To meet the needs of the marketplace, an additional shift of Altima production will be added to the car system at the Canton plant.

TOKYO, June 9, 2008 – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that it will showcase the Nissan X-TRAIL diesel prototype at the 2008 Integrated Exhibition of the Environment in Hokkaido*1 (June 19-21) as well at the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit’s International Media Center (July 7-9). Nissan’s participation supports the focus on environmental issues at the G8 Summit meetings.

Facility to Produce up to 400,000 Passenger Vehicles Annually

CHENNAI, India, June 6, 2008 – Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (RNAIPL) today hosted the ground breaking ceremony for its new passenger vehicle plant in Chennai, India, expected to begin operations in 2010. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 and will produce vehicles for export and the local market for both Renault and Nissan.

A 50:50 joint venture between Renault and Nissan to manufacture passenger vehicles, RNAIPL represents an investment of a minimum of Rs 4,500 crore (€780 million / U.S. $1.1 billion).

Nissan North America Announces May 2008 Sales

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported May sales of 100,874 units, compared to 93,062 in the prior year. Adjusted for the number of selling days, sales were up 4.4 percent, marking a record May. On the same basis, Nissan Division sales rose 5.7 percent, from 82,314 units to 90,379 units, while the Infiniti Division saw sales of 10,495 units decrease from 10,748 units the prior year, a decline by 6.0 percent.

Nissan Exceeds Japan’s Automobile Recycling Targets

TOKYO, May 30, 2008 — Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., today shared the progress report on its recycling efforts for the fiscal year 2007 (April 2007 to March 2008). This is the second consecutive year that Nissan has exceeded its target recycling rates for end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) in accordance with the Japan Automobile Recycling Law.

Nissan recovered 97,195.7 tons from the 134,935.7 (661,213 vehicles) tons of Automobile Shredder Residue (ASR). This represents a recovery ratio of 72.0%. The Japan Automobile Recycling law stipulates a target of 70% recycling rate by 2015.

Nissan recovered 614,601 airbag-related products from 297,803 vehicles through recovery processing and on-board deployment operations. The airbag recycling ratio stood at 94.3%, exceeding the legal requirement of 85%.

Renault-Nissan Alliance Zeros in on Emission Free Vehicles, Advanced FCV Prototypes

PARIS, May 29, 2008 – A zero-emission motoring future has moved two steps closer thanks to environmental commitments from the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

For the initial step, Renault-Nissan Alliance will mass-market electric vehicles in Israel and Denmark in 2011 as announced at the beginning of this year. Moreover, Nissan has recently announced its plans to start selling electric vehicles in the US and Japan by the end of 2010.

And for the second step, Renault-Nissan Alliance is developing fuel cell-powered electric vehicles. Two prototypes are currently in an advanced engineering phase :

* Nissan’s pioneering X-Trail fuel cell vehicle has been undergoing ‘real-world’ testing for more than two years, with examples leased to government authorities in Japan.

Ryuji Yamamoto Records Fastest Lap for Second Time This Season at Formula Renault UK Championship

May 28, 2008 -- 17-18 May, Thruxton Circuit, England Rounds 7 and 8 of the Formula Renault UK Championship were held at Thruxton circuit (3.7916km/lap), approximately 100km southwest of London.

19 years old Ryuji Yamamoto, entered in Formula Renault through a scholarship from NISSAN Motor Co., Ltd.(Nissan) and NISSAN Motor Sports International Co., Ltd. (NISMO), finished a little off-form in the qualifying sessions, seventh and eighth due to engine failure, but came 5th in the first race. He also recorded the fastest lap time for the second time this season, and there was much to gain from this round. In the second race however, he collided with a young driver, the car toppling violently onto its side, resulting in retirement for Yamamoto.
