Nissan Launches Nissan Qashqai in China

TOKYO, March 12, 2008 — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today launched its first crossover vehicle in China – the Nissan Qashqai. Qashqai is manufactured at the Huadu plant of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL), Nissan's local partner in China.

“XIAOKE,” Qashqai’s Chinese name, means “nomad” and is consistent with the positioning of Qashqai as an “urban nomad.” Nissan expects to create a new vehicle category in China with Nissan Qashqai, a crossover that bridges the gap between the hatchback and growing SUV markets.

“Qashqai will be an iconic model for our product lineup in China, contribute significantly to our brand image and deliver something completely new to customers,” said Toshiaki Otani, Managing Director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company.

All new Nissan Qashqai crossover starts production today

TOKYO, February 25, 2008 - Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced its 2008 sales target for China of 500,000 units, this includes both passenger and light commercial vehicles.

Nissan will launch three new models under the Nissan brand for the Chinese market this year. The first new model will be the Nissan Qashqai (Chinese name: Xiaoke). The first vehicle was produced today at the Huadu Plant in Guangzhou.

A vehicle that marries the attributes of a hatchback with those of a 4x4, Qashqai delivers outstanding driving performance and the functionality of an SUV. Unveiled at the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition last year, Qashqai will go on sale across China beginning in March.

Sales reach 100,000 in nine months

Trappes, France (Dec. 12th, 2007) – - Nissan’s compact crossover, the Nissan Qashqai has just hit the landmark of 100,000 customer sales in Europe.

Sales began in March and the 100,000th customer sale was completed during the last week of November.

The UK, Russia and Italy are the Nissan Qashqai’s three largest markets, with sales at the end of November of 17,554, 15,376 and 10,746 units respectively since launch. Furthermore, demand for Qashqai in countries such as Austria, Holland, Portugal, Greece, Slovakia and Norway has dramatically exceeded expectations.

Record October as global production grew 16.3%

TOKYO (November 27, 2007)--Nissan today announced production, sales and export figures for October 2007.

Nissan’s global production grew 16.3% year-on-year to 341,036 units, marking an all-time record for the month of October.

In Japan, the Infiniti G35 sedan, Infiniti G37 coupe (Skyline sedan/Skyline coupe in Japan) and the new Rogue, recently launched in North America, contributed to increased production. Total domestic production grew 10.9% to 112,698 units over the previous year.

Overseas production grew 19.1% year-on-year to 228,338 units, marking a record production month for plants outside of Japan.

Nissan to Donate Nissan Qashqai to Lancaster Farms Young Offenders Institution

CRANFIELD, England, November 28/PRNewswire - FirstCall/ -- On Thursday, members of Nissan Motor Co.'s anti-theft engineering group at Nissan Technical Centre Europe will hand over the keys to a Nissan Qashqai to Her Majesty's Young Offenders Institution Lancaster Farms. The donation is part of the company's continued support for the "Nissan Car Crime Awareness" course at the Lancashire County-based facility in northwest England.

The course, which is administered by prison officers Neil Dainty and Dave Phelan, aims to keep youngsters on the straight and narrow after their time in prison by:

- making young people come to terms with their offending behaviour

2008 Nissan X-TRAIL Receives Four Stars in Euro NCAP Test

TRAPPES, France, November 27/PRNewswire - FirstCall/ -- Nissan Motor Co.'s brand new Nissan X-TRAIL SUV was awarded four stars out of a maximum five for adult, as well as child, occupant protection by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP).

Following the safety lead set by the Nissan Qashqai - which received the highest score for adult occupant protection ever by the independent crash test organization - the Nissan X-TRAIL scored especially well in child protection, underlining its role as an ideal family vehicle. X-TRAIL is one of only two vehicles on record to score 43 points for child protection, the maximum yet achieved in Euro NCAP tests.

The vehicle also scored maximum points in side impact and pole crash tests for adult protection.

2007/10/30 - It all started with the QASHQAI: The cross-over with the exotic name was the first vehicle by the Nissan company with special ZF Sachs dampers. Now, four more vehicles are added, all based on the same C platform. The order for this global platform is a premiere for ZF's Powertrain and Suspension Components division.

Nissan Reports Production, Sales, Export Results for September 2007 and Past Six Months

Record September as global production grew 15.5%

TOKYO (October 29, 2007)--Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced production, sales and export figures for September and the first half of fiscal 2007.

Nissan’s global production grew 15.5% year-on-year to 317,024 units, marking an all-time record for the month of September.

In Japan, the Infiniti G35 sedan/G37 coupe (Skyline sedan/coupe in Japan) and the Rogue which was launched in North America in September contributed to increased production. Total domestic production grew 2.9% to 113,381 units, compared to the previous year.

Overseas production grew 23.9% year-on-year to 203,643 units, marking a record month of September.

October 19, 2007, CRANFIELD, Bedfordshire, UK -- How far can the average customer drive a Nissan QASHQAI on one tank of fuel? The entire length of the UK and more if they drive economically.

Seven test drivers from the Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, proved this recently when they took turns piloting a 1.5dCI QASHQAI from Land's End on the southwest coast of England to John O'Groats on the northern tip of Scotland without once stopping to refuel.
