June 10, 2008 -- East London, Sunday, June 8 - Tschops Sipuka and Leeroy Poulter qualified their Sasol Nissan Nissan 350Zs in first and third places respectively for the start of the first race at East London’s historic former grand prix circuit on Saturday. It was a result that Nissan Motorsport had worked hard for and it gave the team hope for a good race result on the fastest circuit hosting a round of the Bridgestone SA Production Car Championship.

The winner in the 1,600 class was a NISSAN Tiida, run by the DongFeng NISSAN Ghia Team, driver #4Lin Li Feng taking a lights-to-flag victory.

April 3, 2008 -- March 31, Brands Hatch Circuit, UK Round 1 and 2 of the British Formula Renault Championship were held at Brands Hatch Circuit in Kent The 2008 season of Formula Renault UK got underway at Brands Hatch Circuit. 19 years old Ryuji Yamamoto, entered for the second season with Nissan NISMO Scholarship backing, started the first race in the morning from 10th and finished in sixth place, a scant 0.009 seconds behind the fifth-placed finisher. Starting 8th in the afternoon race, he drove consistently to finish 5th. In the first race, he set the fastest lap of the race—a good start to the new season.
Nissan GT-R Is Official Safety Car for Super GT 2008 Series
TOKYO, March 14, 2008 – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd. (NISMO) today announced that the NISSAN GT-R will become the official safety car of the SUPER GT 2008 series, which kicks off this March 16.
A handover of the safety car will be held during the opening of the SUPER GT series (Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture) on Sunday, March 16.
A series of past GT-R racing models will feature in demo-runs in the morning. A line-up of the past GT-R racing cars will also be on display at the Grand Prix Square adjacent to the main stand.

Nissan GT-R demo-runs to draw crowds
TOKYO, Feb. 20, 2008 -- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it will hold the "NISSAN MOTORSPORTS EXHIBITION 2008", an annual event to promote Nissan motorsports activities, at the Red Brick Warehouse and Yokohama Marine Disaster Prevention Complex over the weekend of March 1st and 2nd. The star attraction of this free event is likely to be the Nissan GT-R demo-runs, marking a comeback of GT-R to the GT500 class of the SUPER GT series after a five-year absence.

Highlighting the company’s continued commitment to global motorsport, Nissan will enter the all-new Nissan GT-R into the premium Japanese motorsport series, SUPER GT.

2008 marks the return of GT-R to racing, following the transition from the R34 model to the Z five years ago. Continuing from last year, Mr. Kunihiko Kakimoto will be the General Manager for all Nissan related teams, and the NISMO Team Manager will be Mr. Yoshitaka Iijima.

The revamp allows NISMO to focus on its core strengths and expertise to develop high-performance heavy-tune parts that cater to a dedicated customer base of tuners and racing enthusiasts.
The light-tune parts business had been transferred to Nissan to better serve a larger customer base, by leveraging Nissan's wider dealer network country-wide. Nissan's customers can now find professional tuning service and NISMO-branded tuner parts for an enhanced driving experience at any Nissan dealership across the country.
Nissan Titan Racer Carl Renezeder Wins CORR Pro-4 Title
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 7, 2007) – Nissan Motorsports clinched another closed course off-road championship at the 2007 season finale of the Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) series with Carl Renezeder and his new-for-2007 Nissan Titan-bodied Pro-4 race truck. The Pro-4 Championship was won at the final stop of the CORR series, the brand new Las Vegas International Off Road Raceway in Primm, Nevada on November 3-4, 2007.
Renezeder clinched the CORR Pro-4 championship on the first day of competition in Primm, thanks to his season-long series of podium finishes in his four-wheel drive racing machine.

(October 1, 2007) – Just one week after wrapping up the PRO Light Pickup Championship in the inaugural year of the Midwest-based Lucas Oil World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) series, Chad Hord and his 310-horsepower Frontier-bodied racing machine traveled West to grab first and third place trophies in two rounds of competition at the Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) Series event in Chula Vista, Calif. September 29 – 30, 2007. The win Sunday was the first in CORR this year for Hord, of Felch, Mich., in his return as reigning 2006 CORR Pro-Lite Champion.
