New Beetle Sunshine Tour: Europe’s biggest Beetle event is taking place for the fifth time with birthday party for the 10th anniversary of the New Beetle

Wolfsburg/Lübeck, 23 June 2008 - There are just a couple of weeks left before the big double birthday party: Volkswagen New Beetle fans from all over Europe are going to be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the cult car line; at the same time the New Beetle Sunshine Tour is starting its fifth run in July.

7 million Volkswagen – including one million New Beetle – built in Mexico

Puebla, 01 February 2008 - Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, today opened the ceremony celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Volkswagen New Beetle in the presence of the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, and guests from politics and industry.

At the same time, more than 300 distinguished guests in Puebla also celebrated the production of the seven millionth Volkswagen in Mexico, which is at the same time the world’s one millionth New Beetle. The New Beetle was launched on the market ten years ago in January 1998. The vehicle is still exclusively built in Mexico for markets all over the world.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 1, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced January 2008 sales of 14,411 units, a 13.2 percent decrease from the January 2007 total of 16,610 vehicles.

Reflecting its all-season capabilities, the hardtop convertible Volkswagen Eos posted a 25 percent increase over January 2007. Similarly, the entry-level Volkswagen Rabbit and value priced VW New Beetle coupe each posted 10.8 percent increases over January 2007 levels.
