Alfa Romeo Wins the Mille Miglia 2008 Historical Reenactment

Turin, 19 May 2008 -- Alfa Romeo was the indisputable star of the Mille Miglia 2008 historical re-enactment: after its win in 2007, this year a Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Super Sport dating from 1928 – driven by Luciano and Antonio Viaro – again won the marathon reserved for historical cars, with an Alfa 6C 1750 Gran Sport driven by the Argentine team of Fernando Sanchez Zinni and Juan Bartolomè close behind at the finish post.

In The Tire Tracks Of A Legend

Munich/Brescia, 05/15/2008 -- It was 70 years ago that BMW first entered its 328 model in the Mille Miglia. For this year's anniversary appearance, BMW will be following the historic example by deploying four of these legendary roadsters in the event. Joining them will be the BMW 328 Berlin-Rom racing variant from 1941 as well as a BMW 327 Convertible and a 327/28 Coupé.

With nine private teams entering, a total of 16 BMW cars will be lining up in Brescia for the start of the 2008 Mille Miglia. For the first time this year, BMW's heritage division will be debuting under its new designation BMW Classic.

15/05/2008 -- Abarth returns to track racing, and it has chosen to do so with its new ‘500 Abarth Assetto Corse’, the baby supersports car from Abarth, due to be produced in a Limited Edition (49 cars).

The new vehicle, designed by the Fiat Group Automobiles Style Centre and produced by a team of Abarth Engineers and Designers will be the star of track races from next year and its creation confirms Abarth’s racing vocation.
