GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East First Quarter 2008 Sales Up 20%
Miramar, FL, 2008-04-15 - General Motors Latin America, Africa and Middle East (GM LAAM) region posted an all-time Q1 record in 2008, selling 323,400 vehicles, up 52,900 units over the same quarterly period in 2007. GM’s volume increase of 19.6 percent for the quarter outpaced the 11.7 percent industry growth rate for the region. In addition, LAAM’s market share increased to 17.9 percent for the quarter, up 1.2 share points year-over-year.

* Q1 2008 market share improves 1.2 points to 17.9%
In achieving the Q1 record sales level, GM LAAM sold an all-time March monthly high of 111,300 units. This equates to a 7.2 percent improvement year-over-year.

GM’s volume increase of 19.4 percent for the year outpaced the industry growth rate for the region. In addition, LAAM’s annual market share increased to 17.2 percent for the year, representing its highest annual share.

GM Announces Record Global Third Quarter 2007 Sales, Up 4 Percent
2007-10-18, DETROIT - General Motors sold a record 2.38 million cars and trucks around the world in the third quarter of 2007, a 4 percent increase compared with last year, according to preliminary sales figures released today. GM also reported record sales outside the United States, marking the 21st consecutive quarter of year-over-year sales increases outside the U.S.

2007-10-12, Miramar, FL - General Motors Latin America, Africa & Middle East (GM LAAM) region set an all-time quarterly sales record in Q3 2007, selling over 329,000 vehicles, up 59,000 units over the same period last year. In addition, GM’s quarterly market share in the region increased to 17.5 percent, representing the best Q3 share since 1997.
Through the first three quarters of 2007, GM LAAM has sold 894,000 vehicles, up 20 percent over the same period last year.
