Lyons and Lieb win U.S. Selection event, advance to International Competition

IRVINE, Calif., May 12, 2008 – Just twenty miles north of the bright lights and lavish casinos in Las Vegas, Lisa Lieb (Durango, Colo.) and her partner Tom Lyons (Reno, Nev.) won it big – taking top honors at the 2008 Land Rover G4 Challenge Nevada Passage which wrapped up four days and 1,000 miles of adventure competition at Nellis Dunes on Friday, May 9.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Twenty amateur adventure athletes will drive, run, bike, climb and kayak through the wide-open Nevada landscape as Land Rover North America and the Nevada Commission on Tourism kick off the Land Rover G4 Challenge Nevada Passage, May 6.

Land Rover G4 Challenge: The four-day multistage competition, which lasts through Friday, is the United States’ sole qualifying event for the prestigious international Land Rover G4 Challenge.

Feb. 13, 2008, CARSON CITY, Nev. – Land Rover North America and the Nevada Commission on Tourism announced today that this year’s Nevada Passage will serve as the national selection event for the 2008/2009 Land Rover G4 Challenge.

Twenty athletes from around the nation will travel throughout Nevada competing in driving and outdoor adventure activities designed to test teamwork and skills such as 4x4 driving, navigating, trail running, mountain biking and kayaking. The top two two-person teams from the national competition advance to the international selection event in early 2009, where one team will be selected to represent the United States in the final challenge in Asia.
