The Geneva Motor Show was the setting of the world premiere of the new Lancia Ypsilon, a "small flagship" that in just 3.84 metres packs the best of Italian style, innovation and eco-friendliness.
For the first time it is proposed in a 5-door version designed to offer even greater convenience and comfort to devotees of Lancia charm, technological excellence and unique style.
At the heart of the Ypsilon's design is an original approach to the "premium" car concept that redefines the meaning of the word "luxury", fascinating those who seek originality and character, those who love technology and elegance, and those who admire quality and innovation.
Turin, June 16, 2008 -- The De Graef Fiat dealership in Cologne has won first place at European level for customer service. It is the result of the latest ADAC EuroTest on ‘EDC in automotive applications’ during which the German Automobile Club examined European car dealers. During the study, the examiners simulated 500 sales transactions, in 50 European cities, at the dealerships of ten different car manufacturers. As well as ability to provide promotional information and advice on ESP, the judges looked at detailed technical knowledge, and general knowledge on safety and car safety systems.
“Not a spot … but a film”
Turin, June 13, 2008 -- For the launch of the model that will mark its return to the most important European car segment, Lancia chose to interpret the positioning of the Lancia Delta by combining the personality of Richard Gere and a story that is particularly close to his lifestyle and the values he upholds within one advertising spot.
This is not a product story but a political poem about peace. The advert does not promote technical values but human values. The day of brochure adverts is over and Lancia has been conversant in the new language for some time.
Monte Carlo, May 31, 2008 -- The car manufacturer Lancia enters the International nautical world with a partnership project with the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco. The partnership project was presented in the Monegasque Headquarters and will extend for a term of three years associating Lancia with the initiatives launched by the Principality's Yacht Club, well known throughout the world as being one of the historical Yachting capitals.
Turin 15 May 2008 -- For the first time, Lancia will be present at the Cannes Festival, due to take place from 14 to 25 May. The occasion will be marked by the Lancia Café, a meeting space set up on the beach of the Hotel Majestic where those taking part in the event will be able to meet and enjoy light brunches in a sophisticated, relaxing setting.
12 May 2008 -- Lancia and Poltrona Frau, two “Made in Italy” names par excellence, combine their traditions and brands to create a single article, in which the designer style, attention to detail and craftsmanship of the two-tone paintwork typical of Lancia cars, are merged with the exclusiveness and refinement of leather and the craftsmanship skills of Poltrona Frau.
Turin, 22/04/2008 -- The twenty-fifth edition of the EuropaCinema festival, whose main sponsor is Lancia, brought together all the greats of German cinema over the past thirty years to Viareggio for the sort of family photo that has not been seen for years.
Turin 18.04.08 -- Among the ten biggest-selling automotive manufacturers in Europe, Fiat Automobiles is the brand that recorded the lowest average CO2 emission value for Fiat vehicles sold in 2007: 137.3 g/km. This record was awarded by the company JATO, world leader for consultancy and research in the automotive field, set up in 1984 and present in more than 40 countries.
The JATO analysis placed the Fiat brand ahead of Peugeot (141.9 g/km), Citroen (142.2 g/km), Renault (146.4 g/km), Toyota (141.9 g/km), Ford (149.1 g/km), Opel/Vauxhall (152.9 g/km), Volkswagen (161.7 g/km), BMW (176.7g/km) and Mercedes (188.4 g/km).
19/02/2008 -- Elegance and Temperament: two qualities that sum up Lancia’s presence at the Geneva Motor Show. A presence that builds on everything earlier shows have taught us to expect from Lancia in terms of image, inimitable flair for interacting with the public and, naturally, products.
One thing, though, that nothing earlier shows could have prepared us for is the new Lancia Delta, the eagerly-awaited car that will debut on Press Day at Geneva: for the entire first day of the show, the Delta will be the sole star of the stand that, for the remaining days of the event, will be graced by the entire Lancia line.
