2008 Mitsubishi Outlander Earns Top Safety Pick from IIHS

Cypress, Calif., August 20, 2008 -- The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today awarded its "Top Safety Pick" to the 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander, after the crossover SUV earned the top rating in all three of the Institute's crashworthiness evaluations.

08.20.2008 -- The 2009 Nissan Rogue has earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. The Rogue, as well as nine other small SUVs, was evaluated for front, side and rear crash protection. The Top Safety Pick award recognizes vehicles that provide superior overall crash protection among vehicles in their class and only includes vehicles with available electronic stability control, the Rogue comes standard with Nissan’s electronic stability control system, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

Diminutive two-seater earns top ratings for protecting people in front & side crashes

ARLINGTON, VA, May 14, 2008 — The Smart car is getting a lot of attention for its small size and style, and now it's earning impressive crash test ratings. In recent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tests, the 2008 Smart Fortwo, the smallest car for sale in the US market, earned the top rating of good for front and side crash protection. Brian Boyden Elected IIHS Board Chairman

January 17, 2008, ARLINGTON, VA — The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is pleased to announce the election of Brian V. Boyden as the new chairman of the Board of Directors. Boyden is executive vice president, State Farm Insurance Companies. He succeeds Gary Kusumi, president and chief executive officer, personal lines, of GMAC Insurance. Kusumi served as IIHS chairman during 2007 and will continue to serve as a member of the Board.

2008 Cadillac CTS Receives IIHS Top Safety Pick Award

2008-01-09, DETROIT – Cadillac’s new 2008 Cadillac CTS sports sedan, already a hit with critics and luxury consumers, today earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick for 2008.

The award results from CTS earning the Institute’s highest ratings in front, side and rear crash testing, as well as standard application of Stabilitrak electronic stability control system, which can help drivers avoid crashes. The CTS is one of only three large luxury cars to earn this designation.
