Holden Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Special Edition Holden VE Commodore and Sportier Holden SS V Sedan
2008-03-31 -- GM Holden has reinforced its commitment to value by introducing the Holden VE Commodore 60th Anniversary Special Edition comprising $8,000 of extra value including rear parking sensors and leather seat inserts.
Joining the Special Edition Commodore is the sportier Holden VE SS V 60th Anniversary Special Edition featuring 10-spoke wheels, interior and exterior upgrades and special 60th anniversary floor mats and rear badge.
GM Holden’s Director of Marketing, Philip Brook, said the Special Edition VE sedans were the perfect way to celebrate the success of GM Holden’s most famous nameplate.
Increased Choice with Holden VE Sportwagon Line-Up
2008-01-23 -- GM Holden has taken the covers off its highly anticipated new Holden VE Sportwagon model and powertrain line-up, due to arrive in the first half of 2008.
Revealed at the 2007 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, the all-new VE Sportwagon boasts a sporty design and engineering advances that create a stylish yet practical wagon.
The line-up will offer a new level of comfort, safety and styling in a Holden wagon, combined with sedan-like ride and handling characteristics.
VE Sportwagon will be available in the full range of Holden VE Commodore variants including Omega, Berlina and Calais, plus the sporty SV6, SS and the range topping SS-V and Calais V models.
Record V8 Sales Ensures 12 in a Row for Holden Commodore
2008-01-07 -- GM Holden has finished 2007 with Australia’s best selling car for the 12th consecutive year, helped by record sales of V8 models.
More than 57,300 Commodores were sold in 2007, which was nearly 10,000 ahead of its closest rival.
Strong sales of high end Holden VE Commodore models such as SS, SSV and Calais V saw V8 Commodore numbers surpass the record of 10,982 set in 2003 by almost 500.
Sales of V6 and V8 Commodores to private buyers were also up an impressive 35% on 2006, reflecting a growing popularity of the new VE range among Aussie families.
Australian Car Buyers Vote Holden VE Commodore Range No.1 Again
2007-12-10 -- GM Holden’s acclaimed VE Commodore range was voted No.1 Large Car by car buyers using Carsales.com.au. This is the third consumer-based award for the Holden Commodore Sedan and Holden Ute this year.
All votes in the Carsales Network People’s Choice Awards were tallied from new car enquiries placed between November 2006 and October 2007 on carsales.com.au and its affiliated websites.
Mike Sinclair, Carsales Editor in Chief, said the Carsales Network People’s Choice Awards are decided by car buyers from all new vehicles currently on the market.
“The Holden Commodore was the standout performer in the large car category, registering more than double the votes of its traditional large car competitors,” he said.
Awards Keep Coming for Holden VE Range
2007-11-30 -- GM Holden’s acclaimed Holden VE range was presented with not one, but two, Drive Car of the Year awards at an industry function held in Melbourne last night.
The Holden VE Ute SS took out the honours for the Best Ute in 2007 while the Holden VE Commodore was voted the people’s favourite, picking up the People Choice award for a second successive year.
The Holden VE Ute SS was complimented for bringing new levels of safety and driving dynamics to a work-oriented segment.
Judged on a wide range of criteria including performance, price, quality, comfort and safety, the Drive Car of the Year judges put 44 nominated models through their paces over six days and more than 20,000kms.
