BLOOMINGDALE, Ill., June 23, 2008 – On June 18 and 19, Firestone Complete Fleet Care™ hosted representatives from 30 key business partners at an informational symposium in St. Louis, Mo., that discussed how the automotive industry is taking steps to reduce its environmental impact. Firestone Complete Fleet Care, which is owned an operated by BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC (BFRC), services individual accounts and partners with major maintenance management programs to perform manufacturer or fleet-scheduled maintenance.
PPG Honors Eight Suppliers for Superior Performance in 2007
PITTSBURGH, June 19, 2008 – PPG Industries (NYSE: PPG) has presented eight Excellent Supplier Awards for superior performance in 2007.
Award criteria included product quality, delivery, documentation, innovation, responsiveness, continuous improvement and participation in PPG’s Supplier Added Value Effort ($AVE) program.
Kathleen McGuire, PPG vice president, purchasing and distribution, praised the performance of the award-winning suppliers. “Their products, services, reliability, innovation and overall value in 2007 were outstanding,” she said. “We consider them invaluable business partners who provide a significant competitive advantage to PPG.”
On an annual basis, PPG purchases nearly $7 billion in materials and services from thousands of suppliers.
Volvo Cars' World-First Technology, City Safety, Wins Its First UK Award
May 14, 2008 -- Volvo Cars' new City Safety system which helps avoid or reduce the severity of low-speed collisions has won the Technology category at the Fleet World Honours1 Awards 2008 in London on 13 May, its first UK award. City Safety is a world-first standard feature in the new Volvo XC60.

Ford Wins Major Fleet Industry Awards
BRENTWOOD, Essex, 13 May, 2008 – Ford has again been confirmed as the industry favourite by winning Fleet Manufacturer of the Year at the 2008 Fleet World awards, repeating last year's success. Honours also went to the new Ford Kuga crossover and to the Ford S-MAX.
The Fleet World awards are presented annually to manufacturers achieving the highest possible level of excellence in their sector – with Manufacturer of the Year as the top title.

The device records driving and rest times electronically, in mass memory and on a chip card. At the same time, the company has also put together a comprehensive service package for all target groups that utilize the device.
