Chrysler LLC Announces Overall October 2007 U.S. Sales
October 2007 U.S. Sales Down 9 Percent as Industry Sales Continue Below Trend Levels
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC reported U.S. sales for October 2007 of 145,316 units; down 9 percent compared to October 2006 with 159,586 units sold. All sales figures are reported as unadjusted.
Highlights:
* Chrysler brand car sales rise 7 percent over October 2006; led by Sebring Sedan and Convertible
* Chrysler Town & Country up 26 percent on the success of the new model
* Jeep(R) brand sales down 21 percent year-over-year, driven by planned fleet reductions
* Jeep Wrangler sales increase 8 percent versus last year
* Dodge brand car sales up 18 percent from the same period last year
* Dealer inventory down 8 percent or 469,426 units versus October 2006
Chrysler LLC Announces Product, Plant Changes
- Industry-wide volume reduction and sales slow down requires plant adjustments
- Four products will be cancelled from Chrysler line-up; while adding two all-new products and two hybrid models
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC today announced that it would make volume-related reductions at several of its North American assembly and powertrain plants, and eliminate four products from its line-up.
Shifts will be eliminated at five North American assembly plants which, combined with other volume-related manufacturing actions, will lead to a reduction of 8,500-10,000 additional hourly jobs through 2008.

Auburn Hills, Mich., Oct 23, 2007 - Continuing its commercial vehicle onslaught, Dodge today announced pricing for the 2008 Sprinter.

The base Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2008 Dodge Sprinter Chassis Cab is $33,900, which includes $980 for destination. The MSRP for the 2008 Dodge Sprinter Cargo Van is $36,105 and the Sprinter Passenger Van is $38,935, both also include $980 for destination. All prices are based on a standard diesel engine. Dodge’s “super-size” work vans arrive later this year.
Chrysler Asia CEO Philip Murtaugh Meets with Media, Dealers in Japan at 2007 Tokyo Motor Show
Tokyo, Oct 23, 2007 - Chrysler LLC will reconfirm its commitment to Japan and Asia at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show this week, with five vehicle premieres for the region, a new Dodge lineup for Japan, and the participation of Philip Murtaugh, CEO of Asia Operations for Chrysler. This will be Murtaugh's first speaking engagement in his new role at a major motor show, taking place within his first 30 days on the job.
While in Tokyo, Murtaugh will meet with Japanese and international media, as well as the Japanese dealer body. The Tokyo Motor Show, which takes place once every two years, has its press days on October 24-25, 2007, and is expected to draw approximately 1.5 million visitors during public days.
