The Saltillo Plant—which also produces the Dodge Ram Mega Cab, Dodge Ram Power Wagon, Dodge Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 models, and Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab—takes on production of the Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs as part of Chrysler’s Flexible Manufacturing Strategy (FMS).

At the Texas State Fair in September, Dodge introduced the new Resistol Edition 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie Mega Cab, the most distinctive model in the 2008 Dodge Ram Mega Cab lineup. Auburn Hills, Mich., Nov 8, 2007 - Chrysler LLC's St. Louis North Assembly Plant reached a manufacturing milestone today, building its one millionth Dodge Ram. The achievement was celebrated at the plant with employees on both shifts.
“The Dodge Ram has consistently been one of Chrysler's best selling products and America's favorite trucks since its introduction in 2001," said Frank Ewasyshyn, Executive Vice President—Manufacturing, Chrysler LLC.
“Our Dodge brand sales increased five percent over last year led by Dodge Ram which posted a gain of 20 percent, year over year.”
American Axle & Manufacturing Introduces Exclusive 3.42 PowerDense Gear Set for Improved Fuel Economy
DETROIT, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire - FirstCall/ -- American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, today announced a new exclusive aftermarket 3.42 PowerDense® gear set for 2003 to 2007 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty 2500/3500 turbo diesel pickups. The gear set and its technology will be showcased at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), October 31 through November 2.
AAM Aftermarket now offers Dodge Ram diesel pickup owners the 3.42 ratio gear set as an alternative to the numerically higher ratio gear sets that are currently available. The lower ratio set reduces engine rpm, which helps improve fuel economy under normal driving conditions which exclude hauling, climbing grades, or pulling a trailer.
Chrysler LLC Announces Overall September 2007 U.S. Sales
Down 5 Percent, With Retail Up and Fleet Down as Planned:
- Chrysler brand car sales rise 10 percent over September 2006 led by Chrysler Sebring Sedan and Chrysler Sebring Convertible
- Jeep(R) brand sales down 11 percent year-over-year with retail up and fleet down, driven by planned fleet reductions
- Jeep Wrangler sales increased 71 percent versus last year
- Dodge brand sales up 5 percent from the same period last year, driven by Dodge Ram Pickup and Dodge Nitro
- Dealer inventory down 15 percent or 82,000 units versus September 2006
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC reported U.S. sales for September 2007 of 159,799 units; down 5 percent compared to September 2006 with 168,888 units sold. All sales figures are reported as unadjusted.
