Toyota Announces Hybrid and Clean Diesel Initiatives at Detroit Auto Show
02/13/2008 -- In a keynote speech delivered at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe announced several environmental initiatives focused on new product releases:
• Toyota will supply plug-in hybrids to commercial customers by 2010. President Watanabe said, "As part of this plan, we will deliver a significant fleet of PHEVs powered by lithium-ion batteries to a wide variety of global commercial customers, with many coming to the U.S."
• Toyota will offer a new clean-diesel V8 engine in both the Tundra truck and Sequoia SUV in the near future.

Charity Preview also featured an acoustic preview performance by the legendary pop-rock band Barenaked Ladies at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and an hour and 15 minute show at 9 p.m. in Cobo Arena.

Cadillac CTS Recognized Again with Second Consecutive EyesOn Design Awards at 2008 NAIAS
2008-01-17, DETROIT – Cadillac was recognized with two EyesOn Design Awards for Design Excellence honors at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). The 2009 CTS-V performance sedan captured the production car award and the concept car category honor went to the dramatic Cadillac CTS Coupe Concept. It was the second straight year the Cadillac CTS lineup was recognized by the EyesOn Design judges – the 2008 Cadillac CTS sedan won the production car category at the ’07 NAIAS.
