Corporation's Eastern Region Headquarters Provides Learning Laboratory For Students

Woodcliff Lake, NJ, August 4, 2008 -- Passaic County Technical Institute students got a glimpse of their future with the donation of a BMW 745i which will be used as a state of the art automotive teaching tool. The students are members of Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES), a nationwide partnership among automotive manufacturers, participating dealers, and selected high/prep schools. This event was highlighted when Passaic County Technical Institute received the vehicle Thursday, July 31, 2008 donated by BMW of North America, LLC (BMW NA) to the school at 11:00AM.

Saturn Helps Habitat for Humanity Revitalize Detroit Neighborhood

2008-07-01 -- Five Detroit families will realize the American dream of home ownership thanks to a partnership between Saturn, Detroit-area Saturn retailers, Jon Bon Jovi’s Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Detroit and U-SNAP-BAC. At a press conference to announce this initiative, the last remaining home on the lots will be razed and the first wall of a new home will be erected. A special guest from the Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation will be on hand to lend support.

Nashville, Tenn., 06.20.2008 -- For Nashville mother of four Angela Knight, moving into her new Habitat for Humanity home will be a “dream come true,” an opportunity for her family to stretch out, feel safe, and grow stronger and closer in a new home.

“This is a dream come true. Owning my own home will give me the chance to create a more structured setting for my children,” said Knight, who has been living with her family in the Historic Preston Taylor homes, a housing project in West Nashville. “I recognize my responsibility to teach them the importance of maintaining good character, strong morals and work ethic.”

Handover of a VW T5 Caravelle to the International Auschwitz Committee

Wolfsburg, 17 June 2008 -- On Monday, representatives from Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft went to the Auschwitz Memorial site to officially present a T5 Caravelle to the International Auschwitz Committee. The vehicle will be used at the memorial to drive around the youngsters working there to help maintain the site, as well as being put to other valuable uses. Among the young people there are Volkswagen apprentices and management trainees.

Bentley to Brooklands Charity Run

Crewe, Tuesday 3rd June 2008 -- Ten Bentley Graduate Trainees have challenged themselves to complete a 24-hour, 200 mile sponsored run from the Bentley Motors factory in Crewe, Cheshire, to the historic Brooklands Race Circuit in Weybridge, Surrey.

The charity run in aid of Leukaemia Research at Manchester Royal Infirmary will take place over three days from 10th to 12th June 2008 with the team members running 48-minute relays covering 7 miles each over 8 hours each day.

Geely Shares Company’s Rescue Situation in Earthquake Disaster Areas in Sichuan

May 26, 2008 -- The spokesman of Geely Group issued a statement to the media regarding the company’s series of ongoing relief operations after the major earthquake disaster in Sichuan. The spokesman pointed out that through sufficient propaganda, Geely Group advocated the cadres, employees and suppliers, distributors, service providers to help the peoples in the disaster areas after the disaster occurred.

The series rescue and relief activities have being moved into top gear in the head quarter of Geely Group, each production base, distributors, the suppliers and service providers in locals. The relief activities of Geely Group are mainly composed with capital donation, blood donation and vehicles contribution.

Ford Volunteers Team Up for the Environment on Accelerated Action Day

DEARBORN, Mich., May 22, 2008 - The Ford Volunteer Corps today tackled environmental projects across Southeast Michigan during an Accelerated Action Day focused on creating a better world.

Hundreds of Ford employees were organized into MODEL Teams of volunteers and ventured out into local communities for a day of work that targeted important outdoor cleanup, repair and restoration projects.

"We all benefit from cleaning up and protecting the world we live in. It's good for the community and great for employee morale," said Janet Lawson, director, Ford Volunteer Corps. "By utilizing our high-impact MODEL Teams concept, we are able to steer Ford's employee people power into critical areas needing immediate attention and maximum results."

May 19, 2008 -- More than 500 Ford volunteers, working in dozens of MODEL Teams, will be out in the community improving the environment in SE Michigan on Accelerated Action Day.

WHEN: Thursday, May 22

* 8:30 a.m., event kicks off at Ford Field Pavilion, 701-799 Brady St., Dearborn
* 9am – 2pm, work continues at various locations around SE Michigan

WHERE: MODEL Teams of Ford volunteers will work at 48 sites in SE Michigan including:

* Arbor Hospice, Ann Arbor: construct bins to produce compost for gardens
* Boys and Girl's Republic, Farmington: stabilize bridge and save road to complex
* Detroit Zoo, Royal Oak: build a rain garden at Ford Education Center
* Ford Field, Dearborn: build turtle rafts, repair covered bridge, plant flowers

Chevrolet Donates Horsepower to Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Police Unit

Restore the Horse

DETROIT, Mich., 2008-05-16 – Chevrolet today donated 365 horses to the Restore the Horse Foundation for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office mounted police unit. The horses are corralled under the hood of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado HD 3500 "dually" pickup truck, which along with a horse trailer donated by Restore the Horse, will be used to maintain and enhance the local mounted unit – the last of its kind in the state of Michigan.

Detroit's hit summertime festival to sizzle with DSO performance, tall ship and 50thAnnual Target Fireworks

DETROIT, 2008-05-13 - Details for the 2008 GM River Days, last year's summer success, were announced today at Rivard Plaza. Organized by the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy, The Parade Company and General Motors, the festival will kick off Friday, June 20 and culminate on Monday, June 23 with the 50th Annual Target Fireworks. GM River Days will once again take over the Detroit International Riverfront on Friday from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. and 10 - 9 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
