Ford Motor Company Donates Over $200,000 to Support Disabled American Veterans

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 9, 2008 -- Ford Motor Company announced today that it will donate seven Ford Taurus X vehicles, valued at over $200,000, to support transportation needs of disabled veterans in seven select U.S. cities. Through Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford, the company is continuing an annual tradition of donating vehicles to the organization; more than 130 have been given since 1996.

The announcement was made at the 87th annual Disabled American Veterans (DAV) National Convention in Las Vegas. The vehicles will be used by Veterans Hospitals to transport disabled veterans to and from medical appointments.

2008-07-02 -- GM Holden announced today a three year partnership with The Smith Family to provide education opportunities for disadvantaged youth. The Smith Family is a national, independent social enterprise which supports children and families living in financial disadvantage to create a better future through education.

GM Holden’s support involves the introduction of a Homework Club in the Northern Territory and provides Learning for Life scholarships for primary school students in South Australia and Victoria.

The Homework Club is a program designed to enable students of Moulden Park School and Neighbourhood Centre to fully participate in their education. Moulden is a suburb of Palmerston, situated 20 minutes from Darwin.

Congressional High School Arts Exhibition Opens

Washington, DC, 2008-06-25 -- Congressional leaders and General Motors today honored more than 300 students from around the country at a ceremony to officially open the Congressional High School Arts Exhibition in the Cannon House Office Building.

Organized by the Congressional Arts Caucus, the exhibit is the result of high school art competitions conducted in congressional districts sponsored by participating House members. The winning art is displayed in the Cannon building corridor leading to the U.S. Capitol. More than 300 young artists from across the country will participate in the ceremony.

DEARBORN, Mich., June 23, 2008 – Ford Motor Credit Company is offering customers affected by the devastating floods in the Midwest the option to delay some car payments. Ford Motor Credit’s Disaster Relief Program allows qualified customers to delay one or two monthly payments, resuming their regular payment schedules when their situations improve.

"We understand that some of our customers have been affected by the terrible flooding in the Midwest. We hope our Disaster Relief Program will give them one less thing to worry about as they recover and rebuild,” said Mike Bannister, CEO and chairman.
