Chrysler LLC Announces Product, Plant Changes

- Industry-wide volume reduction and sales slow down requires plant adjustments
- Four products will be cancelled from Chrysler line-up; while adding two all-new products and two hybrid models

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC today announced that it would make volume-related reductions at several of its North American assembly and powertrain plants, and eliminate four products from its line-up.

Shifts will be eliminated at five North American assembly plants which, combined with other volume-related manufacturing actions, will lead to a reduction of 8,500-10,000 additional hourly jobs through 2008.

Daimler Financial Services Business Impacted By Chrysler Separation In The Third Quarter

Berlin -- Oct 25, 2007 -- The business development of Daimler Financial Services in the third quarter was impacted by the separation from the operations of the Chrysler financial services business in North America, which had become necessary due to the transfer of a majority interest in Chrysler.

EBIT of €87 million reported by the Daimler Financial Services division was significantly below the prior year level (Q3 2006: €221 million). As a result of the transfer of a majority interest in the Chrysler activities, expenses for the set-up of a separated financial services organization in the NAFTA region are included in the division's EBIT.

Chrysler Asia CEO Philip Murtaugh Meets with Media, Dealers in Japan at 2007 Tokyo Motor Show

Tokyo, Oct 23, 2007 - Chrysler LLC will reconfirm its commitment to Japan and Asia at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show this week, with five vehicle premieres for the region, a new Dodge lineup for Japan, and the participation of Philip Murtaugh, CEO of Asia Operations for Chrysler. This will be Murtaugh's first speaking engagement in his new role at a major motor show, taking place within his first 30 days on the job.

While in Tokyo, Murtaugh will meet with Japanese and international media, as well as the Japanese dealer body. The Tokyo Motor Show, which takes place once every two years, has its press days on October 24-25, 2007, and is expected to draw approximately 1.5 million visitors during public days.

Chrysler Plants Soybeans In Biodiesel Research Project

Auburn Hills, Mich., Oct 22, 2007 - Chrysler LLC has taken its promotion of alternative fuels a step further this year by planting soybeans at its Chelsea (Mich.) Proving Grounds.

The company’s 44-acre soybean crop will soon be harvested and sold without profit for use in alternative fuel research. The crop, planted in June, is located in areas on the proving grounds that will not affect vehicle development. Additional acres may be farmed next year, depending on the progression of alternative fuel research.

Huehl Acres, a local company, is responsible for farming of the soybeans. Owners Dennis and Jerry Huehl currently farm approximately 1,000 acres in the Chelsea area.

UAW Reaches Tentative Agreement at Chrysler

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 -- UAW President Ron Gettelfinger and UAW Vice President General Holiefield announced today that the UAW has reached a tentative agreement with the Chrysler Corporation.

The strike against Chrysler at 11 this morning, following the expiration of an extension to the current labor agreement, will be recessed immediately. UAW Chrysler workers will be notified by the corporation to report to work on their next available shift.

“This agreement was made possible because UAW workers made it clear to Chrysler that we needed an agreement that rewards the contributions they have made to the success of this company,” Gettelfinger said.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler LLC and the UAW have reached a tentative agreement on a new national labor contract, covering approximately 45,000 represented employees. The agreement is subject to UAW member ratification.

The tentative agreement includes a memorandum of understanding to establish an independent retiree health care trust, as well as other changes to the national agreement. Following ratification, implementation of the memorandum of understanding is subject to approval by the courts and satisfactory review of accounting treatment with the Securities Exchange Commission.
