The 13th International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2009) will have exhibitors ranging from the big three US automakers, General Motors (GM), Ford Motor Company and Chrysler, who will be maintaining the scale and standard of previous auto shows. Mercedes-Benz and BMW have announced that they will increase their space and showcase their major cars and concept cars. Toyota, Honda and Nissan also have significant exhibition space. Moreover, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Citroen, Renault, Peugeot, Volvo, Mazda, Hyundai and Kia will all be present at the Auto Shanghai 2009.Luxury and sports car nameplates like Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Maybach, Bentley and Spyker will also be present.

August 18, 2008 -- On August 14, 2008 Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin China Chief Executive Officer Kenny Chen and the artist Qin Yufen have unveiled Beijing 008 at the city's Today Art Museum in Beijing’s Chaoyang district. This spectacular art installation celebrates the arrival of Aston Martin in China through a striking mix of traditional craft, iconographic imagery and sculpture.

New Navigation System is First Commercial Application from Beijing Transportation Information Center, Nissan Project

BEIJING, July 22, 2008 – Beijing Transportation Information Center (BTIC) and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced today the first commercial application of the STAR WINGS project. The new Nissan Teana sedan offers a smart route-guidance navigation system as a standard feature on the 3.5L model and as an optional feature on the 2.5L model for customers in Beijing.

This navigation system enables the driver to avoid congested roads by plotting the shortest possible route to a destination based on real time probe date collected from Beijing taxis. Beijing has the world’s most comprehensive probe data system.

Tokyo, June 26, 2008 — Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today signed a technology licensing agreement with its powertrain JV enterprise in China Harbin Dongan Automotive Engine Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (DAE) covering production of 4- and 5-speed automatic transmissions.

DAE began construction work on a new factory in March this year with a view to commence production in April 2010. Plans call for the new facility to have an annual production capacity of 150,000 units and to produce 50,000 units in its first year of operation. Production capacity will be raised to meet future increases in demand.

TOKYO, June 16, 2008 — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., today announced that the first all-new Nissan Teana, the flagship model in the company’s line-up in the Chinese market, rolled off the lines at the Xianfang plant of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. Ford to export more than 30,000 North American-built vehicles to China

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 16, 2008 – Ford Motor Company will begin exporting additional automotive products and transmission parts to China, thanks to agreements signed in Washington, D.C., today. The total value of the pact is estimated to be more than $800 million.
