2008-04-22 -- GM statement on NHTSA proposed 2011-2015 Fuel Economy (CAFE) targets: "GM intends to meet the tough, new national CAFE standards of 35 mpg for cars and trucks combined by 2020, a dramatic increase of 40 percent. NHTSA’s proposed rule lays out the first set of standards toward this target. Washington, D.C., Oct. 12, 2007 -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today released the 2008 Fuel Economy Guide to help consumers make well-informed choices when purchasing new vehicles.
