Munich/Hockenheim, 07/17/2008 -- During the German Formula 1 Grand Prix, BMW will be paying very special homage to the legendary pop artist Andy Warhol. To mark the 30th anniversary of the BMW M1, Warhol's BMW Art Car (1979) will again be taking to the starting grid. The setting for the celebration is the revival of the most spectacular stable trophy in racing history - the BMW M1 Procar series.

Heritage As Inspiration

Munich/Cernobbio, 04/28/2008 -- To mark the 30th anniversary of the BMW M1 super sports car, BMW Group Design is presenting a homage to this legendary model as part of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2008. The BMW M1 designed by Giorgio Giugiaro was a car of superlatives and a highly emotive vehicle that was uncompromisingly primed for the race track.

04/28/2008 -- This year the BMW Group Design team took up the time-honoured tradition of designing cars exclusively for the Concorso d'Eleganza and unveiled its BMW M1 Homage. This design study, inspired by the BMW M1 and BMW Turbo, embraces tradition and modernism to give an insight into BMW's own vision of a historically inspired automotive future.
