2008 Renault Laguna Voted '2008 Company Car of the Year'

July 7, 2008 -- The prize-giving ceremony organized in Paris July 3rd by the French fleet management magazine L’Automobile & L’Entreprise saw Renault Laguna take the '2008 Company Car of the Year' award. After receiving Automobile Magazine's Trophée de l’Innovation (Trophy for Innovation) in 2007 in recognition of its fourwheel steering chassis, as well as the '2007 Most Beautiful Car of the Year' and '2007 Most Beautiful Interior of the Year' prizes at the Festival Automobile International de Paris earlier in the year, this is the fourth time that Renault Laguna has been picked out for a leading award by automobile industry.

2008 Perodua Viva Wins Frost & Sullivan’s Best Value-for-Money Model of the Year Award for Malaysia

Rawang, Malaysia, 1 July 2008 – Perodua received another recognition when the Perodua Viva was selected as one of Frost & Sullivan’s Automotive Awards recipients, under the Best Value-for-Money category for Malaysia. July 01, 2008 -- The automotive research and consulting firm AutoPacific announced yesterday its annual Ideal Vehicle Awards (IVA), of which three category winners were Volvos. An "ideal" is defined as an excellent or perfect example. So, in search of the ideal vehicle, AutoPacific asked owners to rate their model year 2008 cars and trucks using a measurement of 15 key vehicle attributes.

June 12, 2008 -- Ward's AutoWorld magazine once again acknowledged Volvo for superior car interior design. The 2008 Volvo C30 earned Ward's Interior Design Award for Best Brand Reflection. Last year, Ward's named the Volvo S80 winner of the Best Interior Design of the Year Award.

2008 Volvo XC90 Is SUV of the Year in Russia for Third Time

Jun 10, 2008 -- Volvo Cars received several prestigious awards in Russia in 2007 and to date in 2008. The most recent is for the Volvo XC90, which was crowned best crossover - "2008 SUV of the Year".

"There was immensely tough competition and we are very proud over this prestigious award," says Volvo Car Russia's PR director, Alexei Kozhukhov, who received the award at a ceremony in Moscow.

Russian car owners voted the Volvo XC90 the best choice on the market.

Motoring organisation Club 4x4 runs the competition, in which eight categories are featured.

SAE Foundation Announces Young Manufacturing Leadership Award

WARRENDALE, Pa., May 19, 2008 -- Steven Brown, Sameer Kshirsagar, Joseph LaRussa and Raymond Theriault are recipients of the SAE Foundation's Young Manufacturing Leadership Award. They will be honored during the SAE Foundation 2008 Banquet at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center, May 22.

The Young Manufacturing Leadership Award recognizes professionals, ages 35 and younger, who have achieved significant accomplishments as manufacturing leaders and who show potential for leadership growth in the manufacturing industry.
