UAW Ratification Votes Scheduled at Detroit-area American Axle Locals

DETROIT, Sunday, May 18, 2008 -- UAW members at Detroit-area American Axle local unions will participate in ratification votes on the tentative agreement reached with American Axle according to the following schedule:

Members of UAW Local 262 will vote at their union hall on Monday, May 19, from 8 am to 5 pm.

Members of UAW Local 235 will vote at their union hall on Thursday, May 22, from 3 am to 7 pm.

Local union leaders and representatives from the office of UAW Vice President Jimmy Settles, director of the American Axle Department, will be at UAW Local 235 to answer questions regarding the tentative agreement from 9 am to 5 pm on Monday, May 19, Tuesday May 20 and Wednesday, May 21.

AAM-UAW Bargaining Resumes - Current UAW economic proposal is not market cost competitive

April 10, 2008 -- Negotiators representing American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. (AAM) and the UAW met at the bargaining table for the first time in over three weeks on April 9, 2008. At this meeting, the UAW presented a new economic proposal to AAM.

Although it was a slight improvement from the UAW's previous bargaining positions, the all-in labor cost proposed by the UAW is still approximately 200% of the market rate of AAM's competitors in the United States automotive supply industry.

AAM expressed disappointment over the UAW's failure to make proposals that address the competitive reality AAM and its UAW-represented associates jointly face in the U.S. driveline marketplace.

American Axle & Manufacturing Announces New Manufacturing Facility Construction in Thailand

American Axle & Manufacturing Announces Increase in New Business Backlog

DETROIT, Jan. 17, 2008 /PRNewswire - FirstCall/ -- American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, today announced that it will continue its role as driveline supplier for the next generation of GM's full-size trucks.

AAM's sales of driveline components relating to GM's full-size pick-ups and SUVs represent more than half of AAM's annual sales.
