Feb. 4, 2008 -- We are pleased to inform that ADVICS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, referred to as ADVICS) has agreed with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as SEI) to acquire 80% of the stocks of Sumiden Brake S & E Inc. (hereinafter, referred to as S & E), which is a subsidiary of SEI, on April 1, 2008.

In recent years, the sophistication of automobile functions has been rapidly progressing and aftermarket parts are required to have high performance and reliability. In addition, it is predicted that cost competition will intensify increasingly.

January 25, 2008 -- At the Meeting of the Board of Directors convened on January 25, 2008, the Board resolved to acquire its own stocks under Article 156, as applied pursuant to paragraph 3, Article 165, of the Corporation Law of Japan, as follows.

The Company decided to acquire its own shares with the aim of improving capital efficiency and ensuring a flexible capital strategy in accordance with business environments.

Aisin AI Celebrates the Completion of New Plant for FWD MTs

Jan. 16, 2008 -- Aisin AI Co., Ltd. (President: Masahiro Suo; Headquarters: Nishio, Aichi) celebrated the completion of the Kira Plant, its new manufacturing base for manual transmissions built in Kira-cho, Hazu, in Aichi prefecture.

Aisin AI has built the Kira Plant in order to respond to the accelerating demand from vehicle manufacturers worldwide for its manual transmission products. The Kira Plant is the second manufacturing base of manual transmissions for Aisin AI after its first Head Quarter Plant, and it will be exclusively handling the manufacturing of manual transmissions for FWD vehicles of low and middle torque capacities. By the completion of the Kira Plant, Aisin AI’s manual transmission production capability is expected to increase by 50%.

ADVICS, Aisin Seiki Announce Merger of Automotive Brake Business in China

Dec. 5, 2007 -- ADVICS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, ADVICS) and Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Aisin) announced today that ADVICS and Aisin agreed the merger of Chinese manufacturing subsidiaries, ADVICS Tianjin Automobile Parts Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, ADVICS Tianjin)and Tianjin Aisin Automobile Parts Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Tianjin Aisin).

ADVICS and Aisin have manufactured and sold automotive brakes by sharing manufacturing operations in the same production base in Tianjin Beichen Hi-tech Industrial Park in China since Aisin established Tianjin Aisin in 1997 and ADVICS established ADVICS Tianjin in 2004.

Establishment of New Company through Joint Investment

Sept. 3, 2007 -- Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Aisin) and Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (hereinafter, Sumitomo Electric) announced that the two companies have established a new company subsequent to reaching a final agreement to transfer Sumitomo Electric’s automotive brake business to Aisin on October 1, 2007.

1. Background and Objectives of Business Transfer
Since having established ADVICS Co., Ltd. jointly with DENSO Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation in July 2001 for developing and marketing brake systems for automobiles, the two companies have been separately handling the production of brake systems for automobiles.
