A1GP to Delay Start of Season Four

London, Great Britain, August 21, 2008 – A1GP World Cup of Motorsport has moved A1GP Mugello, Italy from the opening round of the 2008/09 championship following a delay in the build schedule of the new chassis. The first time all the nations will be seen in action will now be on the 4 – 5 October at A1GP Zandvoort, Netherlands.

London, Great Britain, August 18, 2008 – A1GP World Cup of Motorsport has always prided itself in the fact that its cars are some of the safest on the world’s race tracks. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the season four A1GP Powered by Ferrari car has undergone and passed some of the most stringent crash tests possible.

The car firstly underwent FIA chassis squeeze tests, as opposed to a sudden impact test, with pressure applied to key parts of the car to ensure the necessary strength. Following this there have been roll-hoop load tests, front and rear impact and side impact tests.

Changes to A1GP World Cup of Motorsport Sporting Regulations to Add to Excitement

London, Great Britain, 11 August 2008 – The pressure will be even greater for the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport national teams when they go to Mugello, Italy for the start of season four in September. An extra mandatory pit stop is among the changes to the series’ Sporting Regulations planned to make the racing even more exciting with the extra stop having to be taken in the A1GP Sprint Race between laps four and eight.

London, Great Britain, June 23, 2008 -- A1GP World Cup of Motorsport enters a new era as the 2008/09 season approaches, moving to the forefront of technology by becoming one of the first international racing series to offer its World Feed TV Broadcast in High Definition (HD).

A1GP is carried by more than 45 broadcast licensees worldwide, reaching nearly 180 countries and territories around the globe. They will all now be given the option to receive A1GPs host broadcast in HD, while broadcasters without HD channels will still be able to receive the Standard Definition feed.

A1GP World Cup of Motorsport 2007-08 Gala Awards

London, Great Britain, 5 May 2008 -- A1GP World Cup of Motorsport celebrated the end of its 2007/08 season with a glittering Gala Awards dinner at the Hilton Park Lane in London on Monday 5 May. Teams, drivers, sponsors and officials gathered to pay tribute to the memorable achievements of the season, including Switzerland clinching the championship, Ireland being the most improved team and Canada's Robert Wickens claiming the Rookie prize.

Tony Teixeira, Chairman of A1GP, presented A1 Team Switzerland with the World Cup trophy and congratulated all 22 nations on an incredible third season of competition.

A1 TEAM USA Carries Strong Momentum into Brands Hatch

Top-10 in A1GP championship within reach

KENT, England, April 29, 2008 — A1 TEAM USA’s late-season surge has vaulted it into contention to finish in the top-10 in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport going into this weekend’s (May 2-4) 10th and final round at Brands Hatch.

Jonathan Summerton’s victory in the previous round in the Feature race at Shanghai, China, elevated A1 TEAM USA to 12th in the standings with 44 points. Portugal is 10th with 50, China 11th with 46, Brazil 13th with 44 and India 14th with 40. In A1GP, the top-10 finishers in the Sprint and Feature races score points.

A1 TEAM USA, with Summerton driving the “We the People” car, has scored 31 in the last two rounds. He was third in the Feature and fifth in the Sprint at Mexico City.

A1GP Makes Commercial Appointments

17 March 2008, London, Great Britain – A1GP World Cup of Motorsport has appointed Octagon Worldwide, the global sales and marketing agency, to assist in the strategic development and co-ordination of commercial sales for the series. The operation will be based in Octagon’s London offices and members of the newly strengthened A1GP commercial team will work on a day to day basis with them.
