2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid

The Chevy Tahoe Hybrid delivers a dramatic improvement in fuel economy over non-hybrid models – a 50-percent improved mileage in city driving – with all of the comfort and capability customers expect in a full-size SUV. Indeed, the Tahoe Hybrid is mostly unchanged from the gasoline-only models in the key capability areas.

2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid

There is no difference in passenger seating capacity, and towing and payload are highly competitive with other non-hybrid SUVs in the segment. There are some key subtle enhancements, however, in specific areas that contribute to the fuel economy improvements associated with the Tahoe Hybrid.

General Motors to Reduce Full-Size Truck Production

Move to bring production in line with market demand and company to explore options to expand car production

DETROIT, 2008-04-28 – General Motors (GM) announced today that it is eliminating one shift of production at its full-size pickup truck assembly plants in Pontiac, Mich.; Flint, Mich.; and Oshawa, Ontario; and its full-size SUV assembly plant in Janesville, Wis. The decisions were made to bring production capacity more in line with market demand.

Under this plan, approximately 88,000 units of full-size pickup and 50,000 units of full-size SUV production will be removed from GM’s North American production capacity for the remainder of the 2008 calendar year.

Based on current plans, the shift reductions will be effective on the following dates:

Electronic Technologies, Computer Software Could Hold the Key to a Future With No Crashes, Traffic Congestion

2008-01-08, LAS VEGAS – At the Consumer Electronics Show, General Motors will demonstrate an unmanned Chevrolet Tahoe that used electronics to successfully “drive” itself through a 60-mile urban course in November to win a prestigious U.S. Defense Department-sponsored competition. Its electronic technology is so promising that it could lead to production vehicles that eliminate the most common cause of crashes – driver error.
