&lt;p&gt;Wolfsburg, 19 August 2008 -- Volkswagen is standardising the engine range in the VW Golf segment. For the models Golf, Golf Plus, Golf Estate and Jetta there are now two TSI versions: a turbocharged 90 kW / 122 hp direct injection petrol engine as well as a 118 kW / 160 hp version of the same engine, but with turbocharger and compressor. Furthermore, the TDI programme will also be extended to include the first common rail engine in Golf models.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;GM Holden will continue to build the Family II engine, which has been in continuous production for 27 years, into the final quarter of 2009. The Family II facility, which includes the foundry, will then cease operations. There are 531 people directly employed in Family II production.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Turin, Italy, 2008-05-15 – General Motors Corp. (GM) will introduce, starting in 2009, two new engines with significant fuel efficiency gains for vehicles marketed in Europe and other regions. The announcement was made this week at a GM Powertrain Europe event showcasing its comprehensive line-up of advanced propulsion technologies currently under development.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will be used in vehicles worldwide starting in 2010. The 1.6-liter Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will be introduced in the Opel Zafira in 2009. Both engines are new variants of GM’s existing engine families used globally.&lt;/p&gt;
