Skoda Auto at the Frankfurt Motor Show

At this year’s International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Škoda Auto will introduce its new sporty version of the Škoda Octavia RS, and that in the two body versions: liftback and estate, in their world premiere. The Octavia RS follows in the footsteps of its successful predecessor featuring an attractive dynamic design and a powerful 2.0 TFSI supercharged direct injection petrol engine delivering 147 kW (200 hp).

Other novelties introduced in Frankfurt will include Fabia model family cars powered by new 1.4-litre three-cylinder diesel engine producing 51 kW and 59 kW respectively, which will even during this year replace the 1.4 TDI PD/55 kW engine offered so far. Two new diesel engines, 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW and 2.0 TDI PD/103 kW (a 2.0 TDI engine combined with a six-speed gearbox), will be available for the Škoda Superb model range.

At the motor show, Škoda will also introduce cars equipped with the so-called diesel particulate filter (DPF) for the first time. The filter will be offered for the 2.0 TDI engine as standard equipment for the Superb model and as optional equipment for the Octavia series during the course of this year. Later, the DPF will also be available for the 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW engine for the Octavia family and for more selected diesel engines.

More surprises in the form of a design concept are ready for a Škoda Auto press conference to be held at the Škoda Auto stand in Hall 3 on Monday 12th September at 10:30 a.m.
