Skoda Auto Sales Results for the Period from January to September 2005
Last September, Škoda Auto achieved this year’s record-breaking result delivering 48,503 cars to its customers. This way, Škoda Auto continues its positive sales trend. A total of 369,652 customers bought Škoda Fabia, Octavia and Superb cars over the first nine months of the year 2005. This means an increase in sales by 10.5 per cent as compared to the previous year.• An increase in sales by 10.5% as compared to the previous year

This is mainly due to the successful Octavia range, which went 30 per cent better than a year ago with 171,610 cars.
Over the first nine months of 2005, Škoda Auto delivered a total of 211,298 cars to Western Europe increasing its sales by 18.9% as compared to the previous year.
In Germany, Škoda’s largest outlet, 67,733 cars went to customers (+20%) achieving an accumulated market share of 3.1%. Last September, the market share even reached 3.4%. The Škoda Fabia was the № 1 among the imported vehicles in the small car segment in September.
In the United Kingdom, the sales grew by 12.2% to 30,689 units from last year. In Spain, 16,562 cars went to customers from January to September 2005, which was 43.3% more than a year before.
In Central and Eastern Europe, Škoda Auto delivered 135,834 vehicles to its customers. The manufacturer could record a positive trend in Hungary, Romania, and Ukraine, in particular. And it managed to defend its dominant position in the Czech Republic.
In Asia and overseas, Škoda sold a total of 22,520 vehicles (12.3 per cent more than in 2004) between January and September 2005. The largest portion of this amount falls on India (6,597 units), Turkey (4,929 cars), and Israel (2,105 vehicles).
This is mainly due to the successful Octavia range, which went 30 per cent better than a year ago with 171,610 cars.
