Reinhard Jung appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Škoda Auto

Wolfsburg / Mladá Boleslav, 10 July 2007 - Following a decision by the Supervisory Board of Škoda Auto, Reinhard Jung (56), at present member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand with responsibility for production and logistics, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Škoda Auto, Mladá Boleslav, effective October 1, 2007. He succeeds Detlef Wittig (65), who will act as a consultant for Group sales with effect from October, having reached retirement age.

Jung joined the Group in 1974 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as a project engineer in various functions before becoming head of foreign production. Following posts in central planning at the Wolfsburg and Salzgitter plants, he was made responsible for production and logistics control at the Volkswagen brand. From 1996 to 2001, he was head of the Brunswick plant. He was President of Volkswagen de México before being appointed board member for production and logistics at the Volkswagen brand in 2004.

Reinhard Jung is currently a member of the Supervisory Board of Škoda Auto. He will hand over this responsibility to Dr. Jochem Heizmann, member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for ‘Group Production’, when he takes up his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Vaclav Petřiček is to leave the Supervisory Board; he will be followed by Dr. Horst Neumann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft responsible for Human Resources.
