Martorell, 26-09-2007 -- SEAT Italy, with its headquarters in Verona, recently donated 10.550 Euros to Shakira’s charity foundation Pies Descalzos. The money originates from an auction in EBay of a very special SEAT Ibiza, named “Ibiza Urban Mobil”.

The Ibiza Urban Mobil was born in April during “My Special Car Show” in Rimini where it became the canvas for Bean, a well-known street-artist from Milan. Bean covered the Ibiza with graffiti in his typical manner.

Then the car went on a tour in Italy attending several car shows and concerts before ending up in EBay. During the auction, that lasted one week, many bids were made. The winning bid belonged to Clelia Petito (28) from Bologna.

“I am very happy and proud to have won the auction”, comments Clelia. “I would probably not have found such a car in any showroom. And knowing that my money will go to such a good cause is an even better feeling.”

María Emma Mejía, president of the Pies Descalzos foundation, comments: “We are so happy for SEAT’s continued support to the children of Colombia. The money will come to good use to provide nutrition for the children in the Pies Descalzos’ schools of Bogotá.”

Background:
Shakira, one of the most successful, young and recognized artists chose SEAT, the Spanish automotive brand, as the main sponsor of her 2007 Shakira “Oral Fixation” European Tour. The tour started on the 25th of January and ended on April 8.

SEAT has been working closely with Shakira’s “Pies Descalzos Foundation”, supporting the artist’s involvement in her special charity for children displaced and disenfranchised by conflicts in Colombia.
