NASCAR Busch Series Awards Banquet on ESPN2 Tuesday

December 10, 2007 -- Fans of the NASCAR Busch Series can see Carl Edwards honored as the 2007 series champion when ESPN2 televises highlights of the series awards banquet from Orlando, Fla., Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. ET.

NASCAR on ESPN personalities Allen Bestwick and Shannon Spake co-host the awards banquet, which takes on a “talk show” atmosphere. Musical guest John Ondrasik (Five for Fighting) and comedian John Pinette also perform.

ESPN2 was the home of the NASCAR Busch Series in 2007 and will be so again in 2008 as the series is re-named the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

In addition to Edwards and members of the Roush racing team, other honorees during the banquet include the rest of the drivers who finished in the top 10 of the series point standings. Richard Childress Racing was honored as the car owner champion.

NASCAR: Chasing Glory Final Two Episodes Re-Air Tuesday on ESPN2

ESPN2 will re-air the final two episodes of the series NASCAR: Chasing Glory Tuesday, Dec. 11, beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET.

NASCAR: Chasing Glory is a behind-the-scenes look at the 2007 Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. The 11-part series followed drivers during the final 11 races of the season and documented their preparation for the races.

Jeff Gordon SportsCentury and 2000 NASCAR Cup Race Air on ESPN Classic

The critically-acclaimed ESPN series SportsCentury has featured many prominent NASCAR drivers from the past and present, and NASCAR fans will have an opportunity to view the program focusing on four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon when it airs Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m. on ESPN Classic.

In addition, NASCAR fans can relive the 2000 Cracker Barrel 500 NASCAR Cup race from Atlanta Motor Speedway. ESPN Classic will present highlights of the race in a Classic Drive-Through program Friday, Dec. 14, at 3 a.m.

NHRA Fans Can Relive Events from 2004 on ESPN Classic

Fans of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series will have opportunities all week to relive some of the great events of the 2004 season as ESPN Classic opens the archives and brings the events back to life on TV. The programs air at 11 a.m. ET each day.

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, fans can watch the action of the Fram-Autolite NHRA Nationals, while Wednesday’s program features the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals. The O’Reilly NHRA Mid-South Nationals air Thursday with the Mac Tools NHRA Nationals on the air Friday.

The nostalgia continues Monday, Dec. 12, with the 2004 O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals airing at 11 a.m. on ESPN Classic.

ESPN2 is the home for the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.

Formula Drift Action on ESPN2 Wednesday

Drifting, one of the world’s fastest-growing forms of motorsports, is featured on ESPN2 this week with another in a series of seven hour-long programs. Formula Drift airs Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. ET.

Entering its fourth season, Formula Drift Championship is recognized as the North American professional drifting championship series. As the first official series in North America, Formula Drift has taken competitive motorsports to the extreme attracting fans and car enthusiasts from all walks of life. This high-skilled, high-powered motor sport where drivers intentionally maneuver their cars into well executed, controlled sideways slides at high speeds through a marked course, has more than 60 professional drivers competing in all seven competitions this year.

Judged on execution and style, rather than who finishes the course in the fastest time, Drifting is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, and is often compared to the freestyle nature of skateboarding and motocross.

Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Action Airs Sunday on ESPN2

Fans of truck and tractor pulling can check out the action Sunday, Dec. 16, with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN2.

The program features events from the league’s recently completed 2007 Champions Tour. The series visited racetracks in North Carolina, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri and New York.

Red Bull X-Fighters Tour on ESPN2 Thursday

The Red Bull X-Fighters Tour airs on ESPN2 Thursday, Dec. 13, at 5:30 p.m. ET with action from the freestyle motocross tour’s event in Ireland. The exhibition takes place at Slane Castle near Dublin.

Exotic and historic locations were used for the Red Bull X-Fighters. The tour concludes with the atmospheric final showdown in Madrid in the greatest and perhaps most beautiful bullfighting arena in Europe.

Mothers Car Show Featured This Week in ESPN2 Garage

Three episodes of the ESPN2 Garage program Mothers Car Show will air this week, while viewers also will have the chance to catch episodes of On the Block, The Bidding Wars and Autotrader.com DRIVE.

Mothers Car Show features showcases for cars, bikes, trucks, sport compacts, street rods and everything else with wheels and an engine. The Mothers crew has traveled coast-to-coast to report on the hottest vehicles. The program airs Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. ET, with additional episodes Wednesday and Thursday at 5 p.m.

On the Block will air Sunday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m., with The Bidding Wars at 11:30 a.m. and Autotrader.com DRIVE at noon.
