A1 Meets F1

01/06/2006 - During one of the busiest weekends in the motorsport calendar, it was not just the A1 drivers that were out flying the flag for the first World Cup of Motorsport.

While seven A1 drivers raced around the world-renowned Monaco street circuit in both the GP2 and World Series by Renault championships, A1 Grand Prix Deputy Chairman, Tony Teixeira also took the opportunity to check out the action. F1 president, Bernie Ecclestone personally guided Tony Teixeira around the Monaco grid, introducing him to a number of high-profile F1 people including Renault’s Flavio Briatore and Ferrari’s Jean Todt.

Meanwhile, A1 Chairman Sheikh Maktoum made his first visit to the Indianapolis 500, witnessing Al Unser Jr race the A1 Team USA car, ‘We the People’.
