Lammers, Yoong and Johansson Line Up Sixth at Le Mans
16/06/2006 - A1 Team Netherlands seatholder Jan Lammers set a time of 3’34.864 in the Racing for Holland car on Thursday, which will see the team start the 74th Le Mans 24 Hours from sixth place on the grid.On a dry and warm track, the Racing for Holland car completed 83 laps, without any significant problems. A1 Team Malaysia driver Alex Yoong, also got to spend more time in the car, familiarising himself with the circuit. ‘Our times and race pace look competitive. I did a long run today and the car felt good. I’m pleased with the qualifying result.’
Commenting on the team’s performance, Lammers said ‘I’m pleased with the result. The car felt good all through the session. Maybe we could have gone two seconds quicker, but on my fastest lap a Lola spun in front of me.’
The race will start at 15.00 GMT on Saturday.
