Proton Edar Appoints New CEO

Shah Alam, 19 March 2008 -- PROTON Holdings Berhad today announced the appointment of Encik Mohamad Shukor bin Ibrahim as the new Chief Executive Officer of its frontline marketing arm, Proton Edar Sdn. Bhd.

Encik Mohamad Shukor, 44, holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla in the USA, was also appointed as the Director of Domestic Sales (Domestic) of PROTON Holdings Berhad, taking over from Datuk Maruan bin Mohd. Said.

Encik Mohamad Shukor is a familiar face in the Malaysian automotive industry, being one of the pioneers in Perodua Sales Sdn. Bhd. He had also briefly served Honda Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. as its President and Chief Operating Officer in late 2007. Prior to his 14-year stint in Perodua, Encik Mohamad Shukor spent 6 years at Petronas Dagangan Sdn. Bhd. in the field of sales engineering.
