K&N Air Intake System Adds 14.61 Horsepower to Turbo Charged Volvo S40, Volvo C30

March 17, 2008 -- In recent years the Volvo S40 gained inches where it mattered most, in the wheelbase which is 3.1 inches longer and in track width 2.2 inches wider in front and 2.5 inches in back. The Swedish manufacturer states pushing the wheels outward in each direction makes the Volvo S40 more stable while opening the interior for more passenger space. Volvo is also marketing the 2008 Volvo C30 as the wild child of the Volvo family. It is designed to be the car of the Gen-Y consumer.

K&N has released a high flow cold air intake system (69-9000TS) in powder coated silver for the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Volvo S40 2.5 liter engine and the 2007, 2008 Volvo C30 with a 2.5 liter engine. The C30 is typically found in the European Union. See complete vehicle applications list below. The powder coated silver gives our system an OE look.

K&N's air intake system also provides additional performance for the turbo charged engine. K&N dynamometer tests show a 14.61 horsepower gain at 3900 RPM.

By using a CNC mass air sensor pad K&N is able to keep the Volvo running within its factory settings. There is no need to reprogram the factory settings after installation. The ECM (Electronic Control Module) is attached to the stock air box. Simply remove it and mount it onto the heat shield. The 69-9000TS has lower restriction than the factory air box resulting in an immediate power gain. It is also designed to improve engine performance and is easy to install, usually in 90 minutes or less.

The round tapered universal air filter (RU-4730) is designed to provide increased area and dust capacity. Its placement takes advantage of the factory fresh air duct to feed the K&N air filter outside air. K&N high flow air intake systems come with the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Vehicle applications are as follows:

2008 VOLVO C30 2.5L
2007 VOLVO C30 2.5L
2006 VOLVO S40 2.5L
2005 VOLVO S40 2.5L
2004 VOLVO S40 2.5L
