TOKYO, March ２5, 2008 — Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. will issue its Green Procurement Guidelines in April 2008, defining a set of environmental protocol to augment The Nissan-Renault Purchasing Way, which applies to all its global auto-parts and materials suppliers.

The newly issued NissanGreen Procurement Guideline replaces the previous Green Procurement Standards issued in 2001. The new guidelines include the following areas:

* (1) Guidelines for reducing environmental-impacting substances*
* (2) Adhere to Green Procurement Guidelines through Tier2 or up-stream suppliers
* (3) Management of auto-parts/materials supplied to Nissan-related companies
o Change in methodology of parts/materials data management
o Report data on CO2 emission in the parts manufacturing process

Nissan will monitor the performance of its auto-parts and materials suppliers to ensure that they are in compliance with the guidelines set.

The new guidelines are consistent with the objectives set under the Nissan Green Program 2010 mid-term environmental plan – to develop new technologies, products and services that can lead to real-world reductions in vehicle CO2 emissions, cleaner emissions, and recycling of resources – across the entire manufacturing and supply chain.

*In anticipation of more stringent regulations in the future, Nissan is working to reduce or eradicate the use of certain substances in all new models, launched beginning from July 2007, including heavy metal compounds such as mercury, lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium and in-cabin VOCs （Volatile Organic Compoundｓ）.
