Graduation ceremony held at Nissan HQ

TOKYO, March 5, 2008 – Nissan today celebrated the graduation of students who took part in the 2007 Nissan-NPO Scholarship Program. The scholarship program is an internship for university and graduate students who wish to work with non-profit organizations (NPO).

After a decade of support, the Nissan-NPO Learning Scholarship Program will be concluded from 2008 based on its overall success in meeting the goals set out at the start of the program. These were "investing in the youth for the future", "building new partnerships between NPOs and the private sector" and "providing a place where NPOs and the youth meet". The program which was first introduced in 1998 as a new partnership initiative between corporations and NPOs has seen 168 students complete their internship program.

Nissan Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors, Itaru Koeda, presented graduation diplomas to the 2007 awardees. The ceremony commemorates the past 10-years of success by including the many individuals and organizations that have contributed to the program.

Nissan will continue to explore new opportunities to "invest in youth for the future" in collaboration with NPOs and non-governmental organizations (NGO).

Nissan's corporate citizenship activities are focused on sustainability in three areas - education, environment and humanitarian efforts.
